if you're reading my campaign, there is a slight near-to-the-end spoiler here. you've been warned! :smalltongue: (but i'd like your input, as you know Ipiks more than most)

some time ago i posted a thread for music for the final session in my campaign. it is coming fast.

i am still lacking music for one piece- meeting with an ex party member who betrayed them. a poisondusk lizardfolk swordsage mercenary, who since then also became a half fiend.

the encounter may go many ways, but basically the guy want's to deal and trade information with the party, in exchange for getting out of this. (though it can become a battle)

personality wise, he is a slithery bastard, or in one word- Belkar.

Mello's theme (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L_q6vIHzqKg&feature=channel_video_title) was suggested to me, and i like it A LOT but i fear it will automatically put the party in a combative mood.

when you're evil (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ujzp9ffPwPM&feature=channel_video_title) also came up, but it's a bit TOO sophisticated for the guy, and besides- my players will try deciphering the words instead of being in the encounter.

Well, there's something oddly sneaky about the Danse macabre (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YyknBTm_YyM). There's also always...well, this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9OPc7MRm4Y8). And, of course, the theme music to Cowboy Bebop (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n6jCJZEFIto).

Modest Mouse might also be a good place to go. I suggest This Devil's Workday (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PRGO8edPlpQ) for the zanier, more off-the wall character, and maybe something like Satin in a Coffin (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5bNcftfcTdk) if you want to tone it down a bit. I also really like Missed the Boat (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O4XskfT6vNY&ob=av3e). If you want something kind of spookier and more atmospheric, you could go with The Cold Part (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bIgXWQUY-sw).

You could also go for some Decemberists (something like Culling of the Fold (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VrM-GJyiRjk)) though I'm not sure how strongly I'd recommend them considering some of the best "sly bastard" stuff is in the lyrics, which you don't want to distract from the game. On that note...

I also really like Little Drop of Poison (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8aTvELXNXNU&feature=related) by Tom Waits. It's especially good for a character with that perfect mix of style and sleaze. Though your players should have a hard time making out the lyrics, given that it's Tom Waits, he speaks pretty clearly in this one, and the lyrics are just perfect for this kind of character. My favorite lines are in bold:

Someone actually sly might appreciate Funeral March of a marionette (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5eIk5DWUx_E&feature=related). It's rather uplifting, but "aren't those my good old friends. Long time no see."

If he is somewhat unhinged, then the latest of Tom Waits (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B6Ta3H-ck6s) might fit, but the text might get in the way again.

actually you're partly right :smalleek: i was confusing "sly" with "slithery" (being a lizardman he played it to the max.). usually i don't make mistakes in English, seems like a did in this one. :smallsigh:

never the less, i liked "Little drop of poison" :smallsmile:, and Cowboy Bebop. keep suggesting though!
