This is a tangent to this (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=224701) thread. Now I have the idea of a caster who specializes in killing other casters. I still want to make the other character as well so if you have ideas for that please post there. For everyone else I was thinking a character that doesn't want anyone else to have as much power as he does. so he want to kill anyone that has a caster level. Whats the best way to go about doing this. I still think he should be a stealthy character. But the majority of those builds are rather timid. This character works alone and will abuse any advantage he can get over another caster. Spell warped sniper seems to fit the bill. Any thing else?

Level 20 full caster gestalt build. This character needs not be the best caster, but the best at killing other casters through underhanded methods.

Thanks in advance Playground.

Cleric is going to be useful, either as a dip or as a side in your gestalt. This is because of the inquisition domain who's granted power is +4 to dispell checks and the feat Divine Defiance (FC II) which lets you burn a turn attempt as an immediate action to counterspell without a prepared action.

Add in the arcane mastery feat so that you can take ten and a couple caster level boosters of your choice and you can simply take 10 to auto-counter most spells.

With their magic taken care of you'll need a method to kill them, shockingly raw and simple damage is often the best way to do this at higher levels, a good tactic would be to get a high damage spell then ready an action to cast it "should they move or cast a spell", then when they do try to cast you can force a massively difficult concentration check as well.

I had a similar idea for a caster a while ago, here (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=207323).

Some ideas in there are quite useful. An immediate-action counterspeller Cleric with Inquisition domain and Divine Defiance is obviously very useful, but a bit lacking in firepower.

Some sort of a mailman focusing on spells with rider effects like orb of fire etc. is better for straight up killing. Stun/daze/entangle/whatever and damage them at the same time. Just make sure you 1) go first and 2) target the caster.

Or go both, with cloistered cleric/abjurer/mystic theurge, with twice the amount of counterspells and some left over for battlefield control/damage dealing/whathaveyou.

I'd take the cleric for one side with inquisition domain. Other side?
Wizard 1 Rogue 3 Master Specialist (Abjurer) 7 Initiate of the Seven-Fold Veil 7 Archmage 2.

Now you can dispell anything, as an immediate action, and if you're surprised? You completely ignore anything they throw at you so long as you make the save. Fort, Ref, or will.

Feat to take: Divine Denial. Prereq's Iron Will. I keep thinking it's in elder evils, but I know it's not. Text of the feat says whenever you'd be denied a save, you *Get a will save to negate*. Given that you're going to be boasting an obscenely high will save, this is very, very good.

Alternatively go Master Specialist (Diviner) and boost the heck out of your saves while being a paranoid batman who'se never flat footed.

Psions (especially Seer/Slayers) are fantastic mageslayers, even with full transparency. You can pierce their mind blank (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/psionic/powers/metafaculty.htm) while erecting your own, heal and resurrect yourself, blast them with numerous elements, target all three of their saves (or none), even save the game and reload if going after them doesn't work out well.

Alternatively, Noctumancers are counterspell kings, and their shadow magic is difficult to deal with due to its default partial transparency and lack of components. The right build can easily get dual-9s even without early entry.
