Hey all,

A couple of questions for discussion...

If you cast Forbiddance (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/forbiddance.htm) inside a Portable Hole (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/magicItems/wondrousItems.htm#portableHole) (or other storage space that is not on this plane) does that mean that nothing without Spell Resistance, Magic Immunity, or similar can be moved to or from the Portable Hole without first dispelling the Forbiddance (as it would involve planar travel, which is blocked)?

Also, as a collary, what happens to the small pocket plane associated with a portable hole once the portable hole is destroyed?

I thought extradimensional and extraplanar were not the same...

They're not - extraplanar (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/typesSubtypes.htm#extraplanarSubtype) is a sub-type which refers to anything that comes from another plane. Extradimensional is used to describe Demiplanes (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/planes.htm#demiplanes), which make the "catch-all category covers all extradimensional spaces that function like planes but have measurable size and limited access. Other kinds of planes are theoretically infinite in size, but a demiplane might be only a few hundred feet across. "

So the space inside a portable hole is very much a demiplane, which makes it a separate plane. That's not my question, here. I'm curious if Forbiddance (and by extension, Dimension Lock) could be cast inside such to seal them (against everything short of Wish - which ignores local conditions when used that way - SR, and related stuff) permanently (for Forbiddance) or for days on end (Dimension Lock).

And, of course, I'm also interested to hear theories on what happens to the demiplane when you destroy the portable hole.

This catch-all category covers all extradimensional spaces that function like planes but have measurable size and limited access. Other kinds of planes are theoretically infinite in size, but a demiplane might be only a few hundred feet across.

All demiplanes are extradimensional spaces /= all extradimensional spaces are demiplanes.

Extradimensional space -- check
function like planes -- this one seems like it might be a stretch. Do PH's have any planar traits?
measurable in size -- check
limited access -- check
