Tentacle Whip, Unarmed and Gauntets and Wands?

So, the Tentacle Whip (ECS) makes it so that a character cannot use a shield or weapon in that hand, but they can make unarmed attacks. Yet, somehow I'm pretty sure you should be able to use, say, spiked gauntlets or brass knuckles. Also, can you make unarmed attacks while gripping a wand in hand, or should I make a Spare Hand Belt?

I don't know about the first part but...

If I were DM'ing I would certainly rule that you need to use a free action to drop the wand (or a move that provokes to put it away) in order to use that hand for an unarmed attack. The Warforged's Wand Sheathe can avoid this, as can Wand Chambers in weapons etc.
