The Awakening appears to have happened on December 24th, at least so claims the Shadowrun Wiki. Since it's supposed to coincide with the end of the Mayan long cycle.

I rarely go to bed before midnight, so I'll be up. And yeah, I think it was December 24th.

Although ending up as a social adept or something similar would be humorously ironic for me, I hope I end up as a mage with the dragon mentor spirit.
