How do the Grey Beards from Skyrim, and Ulfric and Dovahkin compare to Jedi characters from the Star Wars franchise? The Grey Beards from High Hrothgar can beat fully armored Dovahkin to death with their fists, freeze with their breaths, and breathe fire, as well as ice, and FUS RO DAH! Just like Dovahkin. Let's say that 7 very powerful Star Wars Force Users assault High Hrothgar, and Paarthumax, the Dragon fights against them. Can any Force User fight and kill Paarthumax?

What would it take to defeat Paarthumax apart from the Star Wars expanded universe?

Force Choke-Force Push-Repeat sounds like an easy way to mop up people who rely on the voice too much.:smalltongue: Paar... hes too big. And dragony.:smalltongue:

Dovahkiin might be too much of a problem then since if he's a mage type, or a battle mage-type, he can just use one of his hands and not need to speak.

Eh, Skyrim's magic system is even weaker than Morrowind's, so it's not really anything worse than ye olde force lightning that gets thrown around like candy.

Now, if this was Oblivion's magic system, the Jedi would not stand a chance as one can make one's self a god with that magic system...

The Dovahkiin has CHIM. Even on his own, he wins.

Unclear what CHIM is, but in general, the shouts seem pretty unimpressive. A blast of fire, a short burst of speed- it's likely any of these things will one-shot kill a powerful force user. Fireball might have a decent chance, but Jedi tend to be unusually tough.

So as I see it, fight goes like this: Shouter shouts. The jedi can probably dodge, and if he doesn't dodge, he can probably shrug it off. Shouter now has no tricks left and can be cut in half without issue.

If the seven jedi operate efficiently, they'll cut down the greybeards before they can get a second shout, and then mob the dovakin. Dragon can be cut in half too, it's just a bit trickier what with the flight and all.

There's always STRUN-BAH-QO, Storm Call. It's quite a bit more than a nuisance, although it's possible that it'll off Ulfric and the Greybeards just as well as the Jedi. The recharge time on that is horrendous though, so it'll probably only be used once conventional options are out.

Still, the Greybeards and Ulfric should not be disregarded. Most Shouts are area-effective, and some will definitely work even on Jedi. Ice Form will be effective, Disarm might be pretty bothersome. For the Dovahkiin and Ulfric, Slow Time might negate even the Jedi's reaction speed, and Become Ethereal provides a breather to escape and use healing magic.

In a battle against seven Jedi... well, it's a toss-up. Depending on a lot of things, not least of which is "which side attacks first". If the Dragonborn et al have their go first, the Jedi stand a good chance of being incapacitated and pretty much cut down, since they have no armor and are plain squishy humans who rely on not being hit rather than tanking blows. If the Jedi move first, Paarthumax becomes a tiebreaker, as depending on whether or not he is able to counteract a serious Force attack, the rest of the Shouters will be in trouble themselves - Force Choke(even if it's not usually a Jedi power) + Lightsaber will spell their doom very quickly. If Paarthumax proves to be a challenge to Force users, he will be able to help his ally humans and defeat the Jedi. Otherwise, he will, too, eventually be defeated.

Jedi have pretty extreme temperature resistance judging on Anakin and Kenobi's fight above... well... molten lava. Plus they can anticipate attacks before they happen and have lightsabers... I don't see this going well for fire breathing monks.

The Metaphysics of Morrowind. (http://fallingawkwardly.wordpress.com/2010/08/29/the-metaphysics-of-morrowind-part-1/)

Basically: CHIM is attaining awareness that one is in a video game and being able to control any and all aspects of that existence.

In other words, the Dovahkiin has access to the console. He can spawn anything he wants, remove anything he wants, can alter any part of the world that he sees fit, can turn on cheats, etc. He can literally turn on god mode and create weapons and/or spells that that instantly kill people out of nothing but thin air.

Anyone in the Elder Scrolls universe that has achieved CHIM is essentially unkillable if they want to be. :smalltongue:

Notably, the Man-God Vivec achieved CHIM as the only known non-player character. He was able to access the creation system and mod the game, as he wrote in one of his essays.

And yes, before anyone asks: this is Elder Scrolls canon, together with Dragon Breaks.

Tiber Septim/Talos is also suspected of achieving CHIM.

But he's not in a video game here, he's in a hypothetical scenario :smalltongue:

Good point. He can't access the console if there isn't one!

That's the question, really. If this takes place in the Elder Scrolls world, he has canonically access to the console and the construction kit, as they are explicitly part of the world.

Which is about as close to "godmodding" as you can get in such a scenario :smalltongue:

Even if he can't edit his opponents, he can just make his stats arbitrarily high.

The world in this case is a videogame. This situation isn't a videogame. Therefore, this isn't taking place in The Elder Scrolls world. QED :smalltongue:

Has already made his stats arbitrarily high, you mean.

Talos and Vivec are both CHIMers (Many-Headed Talos, among other things).

Also, the Greybeards alone will rip the Jedi apart. With the Voice at just whispers and murmurs they can cause earthquakes and summon vast storms. When you speak to them at High Hrothgar, the building/mountain "rings like a bell" when they say your name. At full power, the Voice can shake the world, or sing an avatar of Shor into existence. Game mechanics notwithstanding, the Dragonborn doesn't get anywhere near the level of power the Greybeards possess over the course of the game. Given time he probably will, but he's not there yet.

And here I thought the Chimer were another race entirely. (:smalltongue:)

If Jedi need to, they can just throw termal detonators or get in starfighters and proton torpedo strafe the area.

The main Jedi fights are only swordfights because that's what egotistical sith want to engage in. Jedi use lightsabers because the usual missions they go on require precision work, not because they're the most effective use of their skills and abilities.

Sure, but as soon as you give them the idea, I think one of the CHIM-ers will just make his own starfighter.

In fact, there's probably already more than one Star Wars mod around for Oblivion. I mean, someone made a working TARDIS. :smalltongue:
