Hi, i'm new in the forums. I decided to have some of my questions while i progress through the OOTS comic. I used to be a 1e Dungeon Master, i'm now the creator of campaigns, one includes "Archon Nexus".

I love maps and charts, so i'm wonder what sorts of landmasses are in the OOTS world. I know there's the main continent (Or whatever it's called) where the first story arc took place. Then there's the southern lands with Azure City. Now starting from here it gets obscure, there are several islands among the ocean, and other nations which Hinjo thought they were their allies. I thought i saw some tiki islands, and other kinds of chinese-japanese nations like Azure City but red and different.

The only definitive map or almost definitive is the Western Continent, is there some sort of map for this? Or no, i guess the campaign world is obscure.

I've heard rumors of a map before, whether it be someone on the forums compiling one or an extra in one of the books.

Not owning said books yet, and not having found the thread yet, I have yet to find a definitive answer.

War & XPs has a map of the area around Azure City.

Don't forget the view-from-orbit shown when Dark V committed familicide: #639 (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0639.html)

I believe there's a map in War and XPs, but I'm not sure if this is just the Southern Lands or whether it ventures into the Northern Continent.

And of course for the Western Continent there's this (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0698.html)

Well, I was just going to edit my first post, but given the posts that've been made since I started working on this it seems better to put this down here.

Also, thanks Venerable, I'd forgotten about that view.

I'm editing this as I go, so it doesn't include the main continent yet. still working on the main continent.

Done for now.

Edit: Thank you ArcaneSaint!!! I've been looking for that thread for a little while now.

---

The Western Continent is mostly desert (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0698.html). The elves (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0629.html) have their forested lands to the north sealed off (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0680.html), and a presumably inhospitable mountain range separates it from the rest of the continent. There is a thin strip of livable land on the southeastern border of the desert along where it meets the sea, which includes Sandsedge (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0673.html). A larger strip of habitable land is between the desert and the northern mountains. The second largest habitable area is south of the desert. The largest is to the east of the desert, and is mostly claimed by the Empire of Blood, (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0775.html) Empire of Tears, and Empire of Sweat (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0758.html). There are also habitable (even lush) islands (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0643.html) off the southwest coast of the continent. All in all, the continent (aside from elven lands) has 5 - 6 main cities (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0698.html), with most development elsewhere being held back by the constant political turnover (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0680.html) and warfare (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0725.html).

---

The main continent consists of two main landmasses: the Northern lands and the Southern lands. These landmasses are connected, and it is possible to travel (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0564.html) between (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0573.html) them on foot (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0251.html).

The Northern lands include the polar region far to the north, Cliffport (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0339.html), Greysky City (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0574.html), the Dwarven homeland, and probably the Redmountain Hills.

The Southern lands include Azure City (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0260.html) (now Gobbotopia (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0702.html)), the Sunken Valley (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0566.html) (the Oracle and associated village (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0568.html)), at least four other nations (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0501.html), and possibly the Hobgoblin valley (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0197.html).

Where any of these locations are on the map is currently unknown (outside the map in War and XPs). We know that Azure City, Greysky City, and Cliffport are all coastal locations. We also know some abstract distances:

Sunken Valley is a few days (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0318.html) from Azure City (though it's uncertain whether that's on foot or riding (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0321.html)).

Cliffport is more than four weeks (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0532.html) away from Azure City even by horse, though it's only 3 - 4 days (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0365.html) by continuous (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0377.html) air travel (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0392.html).

Greysky City is on the route (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0573.html) between Sunken Valley/Azure City and Cliffport, though it's still a few days on horseback (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0579.html) away from Cliffport.

A round trip from Azure City to the Dwarven lands and back is only a few weeks travel for a paladin on a celestial mount (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0368.html), having taken Miko the same amount of time as it took the OotS to visit the Oracle in Sunken Valley and return from a botched teleport (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0377.html) back from Cliffport.

Unfortunately, this information doesn't appear to be enough to figure out a map from, even with the view of the planet that Venerable pointed out.

I believe there have already been attempts mapping OotS-world, let's see if I can find the link...

Ah, got it: http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5171
It's not much, but it gives a pretty clear indication of the relative locations of the different areas. (more specifically, this image (http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f213/5tephe/my%20creations/oots_map_v2-2.gif))

Well thanks for the map, i know most of the mainland and western continent now. Whats obscure is the "other nations" that Hinjo spoke about if i could just find the comic.

#501, here i found it. What i can see a Tiki or Mayan civilization, a similarly Japenese and Chinese civilization, what appears to be a mountain civilization (Like the tribes around the Himalayas), and an Arabian Culture.
