Well as far as mine goes, the popular trend is is 99% vs. 1%. But I aim to change that in 2012! No longer should I have to only have 99% of all the cookies, I should have that 1% too! 100% of the cookies to 100% of the cookiemonster!

No, but seriously, my goal is to exercise more and thusly get rid of my beerbelly.
I have a healthy weight for my age and pretty decent for my length, but I still have the belly, so yeah, not that fond of it, so to say.

Also, not flunk out of college, possibly work a bit, and if a charming girl pops up, seduce her into a relationship.:smalltongue:

Playground, what aims do you have for 2012, the last year!

To keep being awesome.

Also to finally get a place all to myself.

Not sleep through all my morning lectures.

Actually be bothered to get up and go to them.

... Yeah, my resolution is doomed to failure.

I should be making that one too but yeah that's not going to happen (Damn you 8 AM lectures).

Five Reasons Your New Year's Resolution is Going to Fail, (http://www.cracked.com/blog/5-reasons-your-new-years-resolution-going-to-fail/) courtesy of Cracked.com.

Seriously, he gives some good advice on how to set your goals so that they're actually attainable and won't tempt you to give up so easily.

My own resolutions are to save more money this year (ideally at least 10% out of each paycheck), to stop wasting money on junk food and to eat a little healthier, and to get into a regular exercise routine.

Make good romantic decisions (not influenced by substances)!

This'll be tricky.

When a friend tells me about something good that happened to them, I'll strive to be more happy and less jealous than I tend to be now.

Also, stop my corporeal expansion before I overtake the universe.

I like to make my resolutions be concrete, measurable things.

1: Get an apartment
2: Save up $5000
3: Lose 25 pounds.

Last years?

1: Get a job
2: Get a car
3: Get a cell phone
4: get an apartment

3/4. Not bad at all.

Let's see...

1. Lose weight, ideally 40lbs, but anything will do.
2. Start school again.
3. Save up enough money for a down payment on new house.
4. Get new house.

Well, first off, I don't entirely agree with new year's resolutions, because I feel one shouldn't wait until the new year to try to make changes and improvements to one's life.

That said, my main resolution which is not really tied to the new year, just a general thing, is to blog more regularly.

I don't have any this year; I don't think "keep doing what I'm doing" is really a resolution. I got into an excellent college, I'm much more social than I used to be, I'm maintaining a healthy weight (I gained a bit over vacation, but nothing that I can't lose easily), I've got an A average in college, and I stopped procrastinating. Which is basically everything I resolved to do over the past year and since. So I'm good.

My cat's resolution is to extend his dominion to the lawns across the street. Also, the high sunny spot on our lawn which is currently occupied by the neighbor's cat.

I'm going to attempt to read the following books this year:

The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay by Michael Chabon
The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams
Steppenwolf by Herman Hesse
World War Z by Max Brookes
Hyperspace by Michio Kaku
Foundation by Isaac Asimov
The Prince of Nothing by R. Scott Bakker
Hyperion by Dan Simmons
The Little Prince by Antoine Saint-Exupery
Wind Sand and Stars by Antoine Saint-Exupery
The Ear, the Eye, and the Arm by Nancy Farmer

I read more RPG books than I did fiction in 2011. I can only count 2 actual novels that I read last year. I have read nothing from any these authors before.

I started Steppenwolf last night.

Easy stuff first:
Daily exercise (barring actual illness, of course).
Run at least one Marathon + 1 metre by the end of the year. I don't care if it's an organised event, I just want to go the whole distance and then some.

Hardest of all:
Put in at least 1 half hour per day on RPG development (rules, setting, scenarios, etc).

Eating ham and mashed potatoes and peas covered with butter for dinner is not a good thing when you're trying to lose weight.:smalltongue:

One very simple resolution:

For the past year, I've been working out "properly" for the first time *ever.* Even if it is just doing pushups. This must continue. Ideally adding more stuff into it as well..

Darn, I've already messed up my new years resolution.

1990 x 1200 instead of the previously set 1440 x 900.

Dang. I now must punch myself in the face.

My informal one is to try and see my girlfriend more often this year.

Others include - working harder at my job, improving my overall health (not just weight but clearing up one or two issues that have been troubling me) and expand my hobbies more.
