Do kobolds have kneecaps?

Most likely, yes. However, it would heavily depend on what you mean by "kobold". Palladium Fantasy's Kobolds are, after all, short, viscious, elf-like creatures. Early D&D made them dog-like, only slowly morphing into the dragon-like versions you see in WD&D. However, since I consider dragons to be monotremes, I think it's still likely they have them.

I mean the D&D ones, i figure that the reptilian bodies would have a more birdlike build, and the bend in a birds leg is it's ankle, right?

[Edit]: All but two of those (1st and 3rd) are D&D kobolds. Well, 5th is PF kobold, but same difference, eh?

Both birds and most mammals have a kneecap.

However, with birds (and dogs and cats, for that matter), what we think of as the "foot" is actually just the toes. Like humans, they have an upper leg, a knee, and what corresponds to our foot and ankle... they just walk on their toes.
