In the middle of the fight between the Linear Guild and OOTS Xykon showed up with his Bouncing Ball of Doom?

How would it change anything? :smallcool:

That would be hilarious. Although in a way, the Order already fights itself, as does the Guild. In any event, the resulting battle would leave so few of both team left that Xykon could just finish them off at his leisure with a well placed meteor swarm. The Question now becomes...would Xykon be smart enough to do that, and more importantly, who would the survivor of a Order/ Guild free-for all be?

(A: belkar, because it's belkar.)

I'd be... surprised if Tarquin and Malack weren't around the same level as Redcloak. Although that said Redcloaks current level doesn't make much sense to me.

Dosn't mak sense how? As in, you're not sure how he got the XP?

More like: shouldn't he be Epic by now? He's been around for what, a hundred years, he's a lot older than Xykon, shouldn't he be a higher level than Xykon is?

Where did you get that idea?

Redcloak was a youngish priest (the goblin equivalent of 20-30 for a human...and goblins don't live very long, except for the Bearer of the Crimson Mantle) when Xykon was a venerable human.

What ever gave you the impression that Redcloak is older than Xykon? Sure, he acts older, but I'd hold that accountable to his personality and high WIS.

SoD shows that Xykon is around 100. Redcloak, by comparison, is around 40-45. That's actually pretty old for a goblin.

EDIT: Ninja'd.

He's 54 according to WaXP.

That wouldn't be hilarious, because the same joke isn't as funny the second time around. Anyway, that joke was awesome because he used it against paladins. It wouldn't have been as funny against someone with half a brain.

Main characters get bpnuses to will saves though, and it stacks with the bonus for named characters.

It's reasons like this that Tarquin didn't want Thog along. Guess who has a low Will save and a huge axe?

Roy with an axe?

No, Roy (as well as, presumably, Tarquin) has a good Wisdom score.

And? In itself, even excellent roll at character creation for WIS contributes little to Will save, compared to level and item bonus, unless you're one of these classes (WIS based casters) that pump their Wisdom score up pretty much exclusively.

Well, Roy probably has a 16-17 Wisdom, which brings his Will save up to 7--only 1 below that of a wizard of the same level with an average Wisdom.

I believe original point was that Roy has high Will save among the group. 16-17 Wis adds +3, which is less that he gets from class despite it being poor save (+4).

For comparison, V is likely to have +9 from class alone, has better chance of having save-adding items, and can buff hirself. And Durkon likely has higher Will save than V and Roy combined.

So, sadly, Roy is indeed Thog with Sword as far as Redcloak and his save DCs (23 at minimum, likely to be 28+) are concerned. Need to roll 17-20 to even try to save is a real bummer.

Well, maybe Roy has at least learned by now not to engage enemies both far above his level and far above his tier.
