Normally a human skeleton warrior cannot possess any ranks in the "Ride" skill and therefore would be unable to ride a normal mount.

However, say you had a Worg as a familiar. As the worg is able to speak common, and therefore give commands to the undead (with your permission) is it unreasonable to suppose that you could strap the skeleton to the back of the worg, have the worg go running off, and simply give a single command to "Attack" any time he gets close to something?

(Now, with Awaken Undead this entire question becomes moot so don't bring that up. I'm trying to find out if this will work before you get access to 7th level spells)

IIRC, Ride isn't trained-only. Unintelligent creatures can use skills, they just can't have ranks in them. Otherwise they would auto-fail balance checks.

For more fun, you can have intelligent PC ride other PC. Hey, it's only a -5 penalty for an unsuitable mount, as long as it fulfils the "at least one size category smaller than the mount" requirement.

Ah, for some reason I was under the impression ride was trained only. That makes everything MUCH simpler.
