I'd like to see if we could get a bunch of nice plot hooks for people like me to steal, mangle and call our own in our respective games.

To get the ball rolling:
1) The appearance of a long-lost supernatural faction re-appears, wrecking havoc with the power balance.
2) When ghosts start killing people, someone has to intervene. But how do you fight someone who you can't see?
3) A seer predicts your death and tries to warn you. Do you dismiss her and risk it or do you try to prevent it and invariably end up in the very position she was warning you about?
4) A body-snatcher is on the loose. They're trying to live the dream; drugs, money, fame and as many men/women they can handle. When things get to hot, they bail into another body, leaving the other absent a soul or consciousness. Tell me, are there anyone you'd rather not lose? Best get moving.

5. A legendary sword has been stolen from a vault, and your party has been asked to retrieve it. However, what happens when the sword starts to talk to you, and the previous custodians try and kill you in order to 'stem the corruption from the artifact'?

6) [During the Vampire Wars] A high-ranking member of the White Council is coming to town to establish a temporary truce with the Red Court. Of course, some people aren't interested in peace...

7) The White Court are known for money and manipulation. When they offer you a stipend for helping them with "a simple matter," it's all you can do not to run away...

8) A Black Court scourge has come to town. Root them out before the bodies get too deep to wade through.

9) Wizards can hex most everything. What happens when you try to interrupt the timer of a bomb like that? You really wish you didn't have to find out.

10) Ghosts have perfect memories (for a while, anyway) and their strength is determined by the amount of strong memories they can draw on. What happens when the ghost of the former Archive starts making trouble.

11) Ogres are immune to mortal magic. What happens when the Red Court gains the allegiance of a group of Wyldfae Ogres and use them to ambush barely-trained Wardens? And how will you stop it?

12) Doppelgangers are minor predators of the Nevernever with the ability to change their form and voice into anyone they've touched. As they are of the Nevernever, they do not trigger Soulgazes and even to the Sight they remain indistinguishable to whoever they are appearing as. You need to take it down. Now.
However, you lost sight of it a moment and now it's one of those twelve innocents over there. Decisions, decisions.

Okay totally misread the title so forget the Orc and such things but maybe still useful?

A. Someone uses pickpocket skills to plant something on one of the players. Then calls the guards and points out the player saying they stole whatever the object is. Why would someone want to frame a party member?

B. A town guard is sad that the puppet master can't put on his show any more because his puppets went missing. The town guard would owe the party a favor if they could get the puppet masters show back on. The thing the guard doesn't know is the puppets were/are real people the puppet master cast spells on. Will the party help find the puppets or help the puppet master find new puppets or tell the guard, what will the guard think?

C. A band of orcs or goblins or what have you is demanding they be allowed to live in the city with equal rights as everyone else. The wealthy merchants don't want them in the city. Will the party help the band move into the city, or the wealthy merchants eliminate the orcs or whatever? Why do the orcs or whatever want in the city so bad? Why do the merchants want them gone so bad?

D. An illit.....the mind eating abomination copyrighted by the mighty wizard that lives on the coast, is living in the city disguised as a human using spells and magic items. In fact it's not evil, or trying not to be, so it also is using a ring of sustance so it doesn't have to eat. Sadly bodies have been turning up with no brains. When the party finds the peaceful mind eating abomination do they help prove it is innocent or turn it into the town guards? Why is the mind eating abomination even in the city and trying to keep a low profile?

E. The leader of an Orc tribe has decided it is in the tribes best interest to have a treaty with the city. The advisor to the mayor aks the party to protect the leader of the Orc tribe and get him to the meeting to talk about the treaty. Someone doesn't want this treaty to happen. Will the party protect the Orc leader? Who sent the unslaught of assassins to kill the Orc leader and why? Why does the Orc leader want the treaty so badly?

F. Something I saw or heard elsewhere. A post from a wizard looking for a group of adventurers to do something that is totally not evil for a total non evil reason. :smallwink:

G. Children have started to go missing. Every child that has gone missing was given a toy made by the same toy maker. Why are children going missing because of these toys? Is the toy maker involved or not?

H. A noble is having horrible nights. His infant child can't sleep and screams and cries all night long. He heard of a magic teddy bear that when held at night causes the holder to have a peaceful nights sleep. The problem is the current owner doesn't want to sell the teddy bear to the noble. Why won't the owner sell the bear to the noble? Why is the child having a hard time sleeping?

(G) has Dresden Files written all over it, so you got that one right at least.

No sweat, a lot of these can actually be "Dresden-ized" fairly easily

A. Someone uses pickpocket skills to plant something on one of the players. Then calls the guards and points out the player saying they stole whatever the object is. Why would someone want to frame a party member?Great encounter (possibly a compel?) to get the PCs into trouble when they're on a deadline. Do they run and possibly end up with the police showing up at their door or do they cooperate and risk the bad guys getting away with their schemes?

B. A town guard is sad that the puppet master can't put on his show any more because his puppets went missing. The town guard would owe the party a favor if they could get the puppet masters show back on. The thing the guard doesn't know is the puppets were/are real people the puppet master cast spells on. Will the party help find the puppets or help the puppet master find new puppets or tell the guard, what will the guard think?I see this as some Fair Folk Santa Claus-esque man with a creepy secret. He might hire PCs who openly sell their services or know someone they owe a favour.

Why do the merchants want them gone so bad?In a city where there's no RCV/BCV/WCV presence, you could easily substitute them for orcs. For a bit more "****!"-factor, substitute orcs for Denarians. :smalleek:

Why is the mind eating abomination even in the city and trying to keep a low profile?I'd probably go Wendigo or something similar for this. Maybe even a Skinwalker? :smalleek:

Why does the Orc leader want the treaty so badly?Any two supernatural factions would work for this.

F. Something I saw or heard elsewhere. A post from a wizard looking for a group of adventurers to do something that is totally not evil for a total non evil reason. :smallwink:*whistles innocently*

G. Children have started to go missing. Every child that has gone missing was given a toy made by the same toy maker. Why are children going missing because of these toys? Is the toy maker involved or not?Awe-freakin'-some! This is the place for a jolly, fat Winter Court Fairy to show his face. Santa gone bad! Can you save Christmas?

Why is the child having a hard time sleeping?Could easily lead into a number of plots. Prophetic child? Warlock activity? Enchanted teddy bears (curse optional)?

By my count, the next number is 21.
