I'm playing a level 5 Swordsage || Binder in a recent gestalt game, and am wondering where to go from there on the Swordsage side (i've got plans for the binder side) . Other party members are:

1. Duskblade || Swordsage (we're focused on different disciplines)
2. Rogue || Soulknife
3. Psion (Nomad) || Bard
4. Warlock || Ozodrin
5. Paladin || Shadowcaster

I'm open to any suggestions for multiclassing or PrCing on the Swordsage side (including homebrew!) with the exception of Arcane magic. Anything else is pretty much fair game, though I want to avoid stepping on the toes of anyone else in the party if at all possible.

Maybe take a look at War Mind (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/psionic/prestigeClasses/warMind.htm), and possibly also Sanctified Mind (LoM) to progress it and pick up some different abilities. It's kind of hard to jump into without planning for it though, considering the psionic creature requirement and Kn: Psionics ranks, but if you can retrain something before your next level then it's definitely a possibility.

Ardent is also pretty decent, get Practiced Manifester and you'll still get powers known as though you only missed one level of it. I'm pretty sure there's even a few homebrew Initiator/Psionic prestige classes floating around, if you could use it in gestalt anyway.

TravelLog! Bro, I didn't know you realized that the 3.5 forum existed, other than the Warblade handbook. :smallbiggrin:

I strongly suggest you get into the Shadow Sun Ninja PrC. That PrC is full of win for swordsages. Lots of flavor, nice maneuver/stance progression, and of course infinite healing and draining.

You also get to be a blind old man, and best of all, it involves the Void, which I know you have an interest in.

The best (and worst) part is, if you get to 10th level, you can undergo a transformation which gives you an energy drain attack for one minute, and if you bestow more negative levels with it than your Constitution score, you become a vampire.

It's in Tome of Battle, obviously. Check it out if you like throwing people.

Getting a touch of psionics is a good idea for ToB classes, anyway, if just to be able to get/expend psionic focus (do you use any Diamond Mind maneuvers?).

I am actually using all homebrew disciplines, as the other swordsage more or less monopolized Diamond Mind and Shadow Hand. Ironically, I think I come out winning regardless:

Witch Razor (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=102869) (for Shadow Hand)
Jade Throne (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=160101) (for Diamond Mind)
Riven Hourglass (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=220580) (for Desert Wind)
Kaleidoscopic Dream (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=86163) (for Stone Dragon)
Thrashing Dragon (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=176501) (for Tiger Claw)

I'm specializing mostly in Jade Throne, secondaries are Witch Razor and Riven Hourglass, then just cherry-picking the best from Kaleidoscopic Dream and Thrashing Dragon.

Master of Nine is just about always a good pick.

I also vote War Mind, which you should take until 7th level when you get the upgraded Chain of Personal Superiority. After that, I'd get into any other good psionic prestige that advances manifesting.
