What bonuses would you give a class that specializes in Hide, Move Silently, Listen and Spot ?
I'm looking for new or more effective uses, not enhanced rolls or take 10 and somesuch, but something more along the lines of Quick Fingers Rogue ACF from Dungeonscape.

Any ideas ?

Have you seen the Rogue abilities from Pathfinder core rulebook or the skill tricks from PHB 2? There are some that are quite useful for those who specialize in those skills, and you can easily convert them to Alternative Class Features.

Let's see, Hide, you could get the Hide In Plain Sight ability.

Move Silently. Maybe an ability to hide from Blind Sense, you move so silently you don't even give the normal vibrations? Kinda situational. Maybe an ability to make attacks without making sounds, only the attack person or someone looking directly at you notices it.

Listen could give you a short sound-based range blindsense.

Spot. No idea. Maybe an ability to detect things out of common, like allowing a spot roll if you fail a search check to find stuff.

I second this, except maybe if you want to have a class feature scaling with levels. In this case, give hide in plain sight with lesser and lesser prerequisites (having cover, shadow illumination, no prerequisite) and give a longer blindsense and a short blindsight (20ft-10ft?)

For move silently you can progressively give the benefits of the feat Dark Stalker (ignoring tremorsense, blindsense, blindsight and so on).

For Spot, an always active spot check and maybe even all-around vision (so: never flat footed)

I second the idea of looking at skill tricks that use the skills you're talking about.

More information on the class would be helpful too. What's its role? It uses those skills, but is it purely a skill monkey? Is it a combat-skirmisher focusing on stealth? Does it have magic?

If it's magic, then see invisible / true seeing, tremorsense, invisibility / silence would be fitting. If it's combat, there's a skill trick (maybe a feat) that lets you make Spot checks to negate armor and natural armor bonuses to AC.

How about this:

Conceal Action
You can hide actions performed in plain view, performing them so stealthily and quickly that others can only see the results and not the action itself. This ability lets you draw and conceal one object secreted on your person as a free action each turn, before and after using it in a concealed action. Opponents receive a spot check against your hide roll to see what you did. If they fail their roll and there are no discernible results, they will not be aware you performed an action at all.

This ability may be used to hide movements, and prevent enemies from knowing which way you went, if they cannot see you after you move. However using it to hide movements allows opponents to make a listen check as well as a spot check to figure out which way you went.

Potential uses:

Stabbing someone in the middle of a crowd. To passersby it'll seem as though the victim suddenly gained a stab wound, while you won't have appeared to have done anything.

Throwing off pursuers.

Moving through guarded areas with no hiding places without being seen, as long as you end your movement in a hiding place.

>> More information on the class would be helpful too.
>> What's its role?
Basically, a Rogue remake. Something that will put to shame the core Rogue skill-wise. Sneak Attack will be in it, but not as a 10-steps feature.

>> It uses those skills, but is it purely a skill monkey?
Not purely.

>> Is it a combat-skirmisher focusing on stealth?
To some degree.
Focusing on the 4 mentioned skills will be one of 4 paths a character will have to select from, gaining one at levels 1, 7, 13 and 19.

>> Does it have magic?
No

Beyond the above, the suggestion to look at the PF Rogue was great. I hijacked Surprise Attack as the feature I was looking for and Trap Spotter as a skill-trick (still working out the final details for both).

As for Conceal Action – it could be a great skill-trick, but it should be primarily based on Sleight of Hand.
The hiding option when starting and finishing movement out of sight would make it too much for a skill-trick, so it’s omitted.

Thanks for the replies everyone – they were a great help.
