Need Escape plan!! Please Help.

Ok here's the issue, I'm playing a game with close friends and the game started out where we are slaves and need to escape to continue the story.
Problem is, as a PC I've never led the group before.
Open to suggestions, also trying to be vague in case my DM is a member to these forums.

Slaves where? Salt mines? Gladiator arena? Mud farms? Lower deck of a galley?

Further, what is your party makeup? Who is keeping you slaves? Tell us as much as you can.
