Of Polymorph

Two questions that are answered with ease, but I'm drawing mind blanks to the second one, and love the imagination of the board:

1) What are some big nasty monsters to polymorph into, say with a caster level of 7 or 8?

and

2) How can a Cleric gain Polymorph onto their spell list?

You can get Polymorph on your list by taking the Transformation domain. Plus it gives a CL boost on Transmutations.

Even hydras without quite so many heads are pretty nasty. 8-headed hydra ain't half bad. But that's a given, I suppose. Hmm...

The Alteration domain also has Polymorph according to the list.

Of these, I like Cave and War Trolls for gishes... humanoid shape allows the use of your equipment.

If you can swing the Outsider type, pretty much all of them (but especially Astral Deva/Planetar) are awesome also.
