So, I'm playing a D&D Play-by-post here in a lil' bit, set in Middle Earth, and my character is a bard who plays the flute. So, naturally, I need flute music. Now, my character is going to use a lot of fear effects, so I need your favorite eerie, creepy and just plain eeeeyuhhh...

I currently have found the Pan's Labyrinth lullaby, so what else in the way of creepy flutism can the Playground lay on me?

Ian Anderson (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WsL2I_Fwor8&feature=related) - one of the very best flute artists. Not that creepy, but parts of this solo would definately fit. If it's not enough, look for his other concerts.

Just about everything by Gheorghe Zamfir, who plays the pan flute masterfully. A lot of his work would probably fall in the "eerie" category, but that's probably due to the pan flute itself.

Very good choice for bard. True, Jethro Tull is rarely creepy. Look at Broadsword & the Beast, Songs From the Wood , & Stormwatch for inspiration.

It might give the wrong feel for the setting, but how about some shakuhachi (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0X9JfZW9sfY) (Japanese flute) music?

Also might not fit for your setting, but you could look into Native American flute as well. Brule and their flute player, Nicole, have some good flute parts, some quite eerie. This example (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LF2cicruMSQ&feature=related)isn't all that eerie, but it gives you a place to start with them.

Edit:
A quick Youtube search revealed This song (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K9hzF95RuvQ), this one (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L_soae20uUk) and this one, too (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=syavhlNt0d4). They're not all Native American flute, but still eerie and good.
