Good ways to make copies of yourself and then being able to switch out with them?

Trickery Devotion Feat
Warlock Teleport
Wu Jen Body Outside Body

I don't need them to be too impressive, but it would be better if they were material/able to interact.

Is there a summon that I could use? Possibly a doppleganger? Or maybe somehow combine two spells?

A psionic power in Hyperconscious lets you do this (throw ectoform), and it even has a PrC (the astral zealot) which improves the power immensely. It lets you throw out extremely weak astral constructs that look just like you 1/round that you can then command to do stuff (and swap places with) within a certain radius, which the PrC turns into actual, stronger astral constructs (and it lets you wear ectoplasmic body armor that you can imbue with astral construct abilities).

Simulacrum is technically an illusion.

What does PaO stand for?

Polymorph Any Object. One of the more notorious the Swiss Army Chainsaws for D&D 3.X.

Also:

Instant Diversion (Races of the Dragon): mirror image as a swift action.

Ice Assassin (Frostburn): simulacrum on steroids.

There's also Tleilaxu_Ghola's Psionic Sandwich trick (http://thestormwindfallacy.multiply.com/journal/item/76), and Doc_Roc's magic jar trick (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?p=9186526#post9186526).
