Tuf Voyaging

How many of you have read this book written by George RR Martin of Fire and Ice fame?
The one about a ship that has genetic engineering which was found by a humble merchant named Tuf.

I have a first printing back home. One of my favorite sci-fi books, really, though it's done in a style that's not often appreciated nowadays.

I read through it years ago, and recently recapped it for my fiancee (as is our custom with good stories that she's unlikely to read, it became a bedtime story).

Pretty nifty, although I didn't make the connection to A Song of Ice and Fire for quite some time. Not sure why.
