[3.5] Protection from X vs. Willing-Target Enchantments?

Do the Protection from X spells allow a character to be affected by a Compulsion or Charm spell that they are willing to be affected by? For example, if a character has a Protection from Good spell effect going and then the party cleric casts Bless (Enchantment (Compulsion)), does the Protection spell invariably block the Bless, or can the character choose to be affected by the Bless?

It only blocks those effects which grant control over the target, so Bless should still work just fine.
