Hello all, I once again come back to the forums to receive feedback on a build idea.

In an upcoming campaign, we are going to be reaching deep into the bowels of Epic levels.

The DM said he estimates we will reach at least 40th. More than likely higher, as he gave us insight on the big baddie being level 90.

My idea, strictly for having fun and flavor.

The Indigo Trickster build by Dralnu is what I'm going to be using for some of the levels.

I was thinking of going straight and simple, Indigo Trickster 20/Binder 20 and then whatever else if we get extra levels.

Anyone have any input on if this idea will be a good turn out or just a flop.

I'm not looking for MAJOR optimization but, still some optimizing would be good.

By level 25, the math of the game has long since ceased to function coherently. I expect that you could probably go into this game with a well-planned level 18 Wizard, and sweep the game -- big bad guy and all. Has he banned epic magic? He is aware that the game ceases to really be a game at this point? YOU are aware of this fact? Why does he simply want characters of levels like that?

This. Epic levels are a broken, unfair, wonky, lethal mess. The only hope of surviving this mess is with Epic Spellcasting (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/epic/feats.htm), the rules for which are also wonky, broken, lethal, and unfair. I think the current build will fail utterly in the face of intelligent, level-appropriate (if that phrase still means anything by those levels) challenges. Meet the Prereqs for, and take, Epic Spellcasting if you want to be at all useful.

Don't bother with Epic items, because "normal" ones are far more efficient. Custom Items (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/magicItems/creatingMagicItems.htm) will be your friend. Find every immunity and beneficial effect you can find, make a custom item or two of it, and equip it. Equip near-unlimited items by making them slotless (a mere x2 price increase, nothing compared to your WBL). Necessary Magic Items List (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=187851) is also your friend, get every effect listed there, because you have lolabillion+ gold to throw around. If your spellcasting is Wizard, use multiple Blessed Books to hold every spell in the game and more.

Good luck out there buddy, you're gonna need it.

Yes I am aware Epic becomes nonsense. Generally, we do not have major power-gamers and heavy optimizers.

We play the game for fun, and don't break things unless necessary.

Epic Spellcasting takes everything you once could handle, and crumples it into a little ball and throws it out the window for the small school children to play with.

We do not tend to play slow leveling games with the group I'm in, and reach Epic nearly everytime, and tend to go farther than 21. Last game we ended at level 21. The game before, we were about 30.

To show how un-optimized our group is, I get called out on using stupid over powered spells on numerous occasions. What are these spells I get called out on, let's see; Energy Transformation Field, Disjunction, Languor, and oh yea Celerity.

Sure I can agree that these spells are fairly powerful compared to others, but still. I am personally, not a heavily experienced player and I get called a power-gamer by that group.

I don't want to even begin to explain the stuff thats going on in the current campaign...

So, overall, as I was looking for input on, was simply if this build sounded like crap due to lack of actual spell casting, or since its in a low-low optimized game, that it'd be ok given that I grab myself useful items.
