It's been a long day's sailing, but you've finally made it. The captain orders the sails taken town and the anchor weighed.

As the Revenge settles in, the crew busy themselves. The deck is a flurry of motion, hands on ropes, bare feet scuttling about. The sails dip and the ship slows to a halt. There's a clatter of chain and a splash as the anchor hits the water. The diving bell is lifted out of the cargo-hold and waits to be dropped into the deeps.

"ALL HANDS" the captain shouts. His voice is carried along by the crewmen on the deck to those below and into the belly of the ship. Cursing, the sound of doors opening and closing and the patter of feet along the floor and deck quickly follow.

There's work to be done.

Shuffling feet and attempting to posture the same as another dockman, a silvery-gleaming warforged with a large sheathed blade strapped to it's back approaches the ship with a large gait, it's various mechanical components clicking and clanking in-and-out of place with each step. The automaton ducks it's head as it emerges from the ship's lower deck and takes a long, slow look around the topside.

The salty air played in Nxurab's flat nostrils as he instinctively put his hand upon the hilt of his blade. His grip loosened after a moment, and began to make his way towards his station, his quick movement made even moreso as his small size allowed him to slip between the more cumbersome crew-mates with ease. His eyes quickly surveyed his surroundings, taking in every detail with practiced precision.

He could only hope that this time, they had stumbled onto something he could recognize.

Katasha ties off her work and trots up to the commotion, as at home on the Revenge as any of her crew mates. She begins to chew a thick, leathery strip of jerky as she awaits the captain's orders.

Gravon stands up, waving Graves goodbye. He tossed him one last piece of dried meat, before packing up his reserves in his shark's saddlebags. I hoisted them over his shoulder, and made his way to the captain, he bulky frame pulling up beside Katasha. "One to ten. How good does this one think today will be?"

From high above Varia watches, looking down on the commotion from the crow's nest above. She takes a moment to watch her friends and acquaintances move about, watching the subtle patterns of their movement unfold and weave about like a chaotic, organic fractal. She smiles, the ocean winds pulling her long, dark hair back and away from her face. Today, she mused, had all the signs of being a good day. Perhaps today would be the day she found what she was searching for.

Varia adjusts her pack, the weight of her darkwood and bone spellbook comforting against her, before making her way down from the crow's nest via the rigging and a few conveniently placed footholds. She is not especially strong, but her grace makes up for the loss, and she takes only a minute to extricate herself from the ropes and pulleys and to reach the deck below. She nods to the captain, her ears quirked up and intent.

"I'm fellin' it today, mate a full ten fer sure-- how'bou'choo?" Tasha responds to Gravon thickly around her jerky. She grins up at him wolfishly, eager and ready for the mission.

Brolin walked from belowdecks to meet the captain as soon as he heard the call. And while the two avians perched atop his shoulder and crown were fighting it off again, he couldn't be too bothered by this. He snapped his fingers above his head once, and called the two of them to order. When he reached the deck, he noticed he was one of the last to appear. With the style he's known for, Brolin smiled and moves his hands up, motioning for Ariana to man the crow's next for now, with George still with him. "Why do I always have to do the dirty work, that ruffian is much bigger." Ariana complained. "And you're much smarter, now stop complaining and be happy you don't have to do the heavy lifting."

Finally, with George now perched on his outstretched arm, Brolin walked to the captain and the gathered crew. "Sorry I'm late, what did I miss?" he smiled a heartwarming smile then, hoping he would be excused.

"Gravon thinks seven. Good day, but bad part to it." He reaches into one of his pouches, pulling out a small strip of dried meat. "But mostly good."

The brief frenzy of motion rolls to an eventual halt. The captain, leather tricorne hat and oilskin coat, steps down from behind the wheel. One of the other crew members takes his place, and the captain walks over to inspect the salvage team.
"You all know where you should be. Six, Fortune, Gravon, with the bell." Aelseth indicates the large wooden contraption.
"Nxurab, you, him" the captain nods towards Brolin "and the elf are on watch. Eyes open and be it on your heads if something happens."

"Well? Step lively then!" The captain claps his hands "The sooner we're done the sooner we're under way again."

"Nothin' we should know, cap? These ain't sharkskin (sahuagin) waters, are they?" The ghoul asks, getting into position. She finishes her jerky with a snap and looks ready to move out.

Six takes a lumbering saunter towards the bell and helps prep it for launch.
"All ready, cap. Give the order and we've got this." The silver-plated warforged turns to the ghoul and tries to mimic a grin, merely opening it's mouth in the process. "If there weren't any, it would take the fun out of it, right? Besides, there's nothing we can't handle!" Six then takes it's place inside of the diving bell, stooped down and playing with bits of string it pulled from it's satchel.

Below the waves:
The bell plunges the three of you into the water, slowly sinking. Water starts to seep into the bottom of the bell but this is normal. A small stone disk embedded into the roof provides enough light to see inside. There's a sudden "thump" as the bell hits bottom.

Above the waves:
It takes four crew to man the bell during ascent and descent, two for the winch that moves it and another two to run the pump that provides air. A bell chimes as the line goes slack. Two of the crew returns to their duties, they'll take the pump in shifts. A stiff breeze blows over the decks and is still.

Using her ghoulish dark vision, Kat peers about on the ocean floor, looking for some booty.

"Let's do this, gents!" she whispers fiercely as she begins to exit the enclosed space.

The sea floor around you isn't flat, there's a quality to it that might be called "hilly". There's a blocky bit of stone or two in the immediate area of the bell (it's come just shy of one in fact). uou can see the ship silhouetted above you but the floor of the sea here, though comparatively shallow, is darker than above.

Spot checks lady and gents. Katasha has darkvision, so however far that goes (60' I think?) Gravon has low-light vision, and I think Warforged sight is normal?

The silvery warforged put away it's yarn and readied the sword on it's back, taking in the landscape.
"I always get chills coming back down here. You know?" Six exited the bell and took a good look around out of curiosity.

You are correct, sir.

Nxurab saluted and waited for the diving bell to be lowered, and quickly made his way to his post above deck. He stood on the highest part of the main deck, watching the seas in all directions, knowing the crew's safety relied on him. His eyes locked on the horizon, hand on his blade, Nxurab dared any to be foolish enough to cross blades with a Goblin elite.

Since he's actively looking, I assume he takes ten on Spot while keeping alert?

Cryptic

You've got +0 overall to spot, so your roll is a 10.
You do not notice anything of particular interest

Psiclone:

You spot a faint glint of something metallic over a ridge ahead. You aren't sure but you think you might have caught a glimpse of something moving over there as well. Could just be fish. The stone you're looking it as quite obviously worked out of blocks, though it's been colonized by sea-life. There's another few up-ahead forming a rough line towards the ridge.

Nazgulnine

The gloom is obscuring your line of sight. You do notice that the blocks are leading off over one of the ridges in the sand in a rough line, and seem to be worked stone, rather than natural formations.

Katasha motions at Six for caution. She points along the line of blocks towards the ridge, making her way along the rough cover they provide. She moves slowly and quietly, careful not to kick up too much debris and stick to the shadows.

She scouts ahead a bit, but stays within 30-40 feet of the war forged.

Gravon breathes deeply in and out for a few seconds, before filling in his lungs one last time. Going feet first, he heads into the water. He finds Graves, and begins hooking up the Shark's reins and bags, before using him to catch up to Katasha and Six.

Nodding it's recognition of Katasha's warning, Six keeps it's blade close at hand as it follows the ghoul while keeping a close eye on the changeling. Having grown accustomed to keeping watch over so many others, Six considered it almost second nature to be wary of anything that may mean to harm it's companions. Six only hoped there would be no such problems to complicate their already precarious situation.

As the three of you reach the crest of the ridge some moments later, you find what can best be called a sinkhole. The sea floor dips abruptly into a 15 foot drop. At the bottom is a twisted, rusty serpent made of wreckage: the lightning rail.

Nxurab squinted, clearly his vision could have served him better. Now that Varia had seen something, he knew he had to be on the alert. He knew well that elven sight was among the most keen in the Kingdoms.

Though she knew little of elemental architecture or anything like that, Katasha was bright enough to look for interesting objects, shiny things, coins and wealth, weapons, and other important items for salvage.
