The Collector decided that its creation, The Menagerie, was too mundane for its liking. The creatures it created or collected already have killed themselves, allied with each other or isolated themselves from everybody else. To make it interesting, it collected a second batch of creatures, and released them into its creation. Many of them had personalities that severely conflicted with each other, so it created them close to each other, but far enough so they could not see each other when they are initially collected.

Raziel's world, Raziel and Kain:
Kain had just struck Raziel with his Soul Reaver, breaking it. Kain, realizing his defeat, retreats. Raziel, now in the Spiritual Realm, and he sees the spiritual form of the Soul Reaver. Raziel takes the blade, and it changes into its new form. The Elder God then telepathically speaks to Raziel.

“From this moment and forever afterward, you and this blade are inexplicitly bound. Soul Reaver and Reaver of Souls, your destinies are intertwined. By destroying the sword, you have liberated it from its corporeal prison, and restored it to its true form, a Wraith Blade; its energy unbound. No longer a physical blade, it can only manifest itself in the Material Realm when your strength is fully restored. Once manifest it will-”
Unknown location, Raziel only
Suddenly the area surrounding Raziel changes, the area is unfamiliar to him. The sky is clear, and much brighter. The area looks nothing like Nosgoth.

“What is this? Where have you put me?” he asks the Elder God. He hears nothing. “Damn it, you fiend, tell me where I am!”

Raziel hears nothing, only silence. Eventually he realizes he is no longer in his spiritual form, however his blade still exists. He attempts to enter the Spiritual Realm, but nothing happens.

“The Spiritual Realm and the Material Realm appear to be one in the same. I do not see any of my previous brethren, I must find out where I am, how to get back to Nosgoth, and kill Kain.”

Random Island

Pakli was spending an average day on the beach.
2 people had arrived to get him to come out of retirement but were quickly banished and he returned to perusing a magazine when he vanished.
HEY! Watch it with the kidnappings! Wait. I don't recognize this place. Where am I? If this is some kind of joke Kliko, I swear-

Once, there was a sourceless shadow...

Triumph. A bitter draught unsavored by the only creature in a position to truly enjoy it - but poison-sweet nonetheless. The Ebon Dragon coiled in the skies above the Imperial Mountain. The Daystar was a dull, blood-red orb in the sky above, choked out by the cloying smoke issuing from the corrupted Omphalos, about which the Dragon's miles-long form was coiled, his baleful eyes turned downward. His maw, wide enough to swallow city blocks without chewing, was contorted in a grin of sickening glee. Below, the last fitful light of Creation was dying.

...who spat out the seed of the sun

Oh, the heroes were arrayed against him - those who had not already bent the knee. But the hated Exalted were shattered, empty images of themselves, their teeth yanked from bloodied jaws by the death of the Dragon's despised creation. Without the righteousness of the Sun to illumine the weaknesses in the Dragon's armor, he knew no rival on this world. And soon - oh, so soon! there would be vengeance. There would be... retribution of a suitably epic scale. Suffering the likes of which would break the world itself. Though the broken titan curled about the world's heart held a certain appreciation for treachery, that would not slow him from filling all of Creation with their tears. Violations undreamed of awaited his foes, the last ragged survivors forced to continue an existence where the only rule was the whim of a mad, broken titan - Darkness eternal, screams without end, forever and ever, amen.

He could hardly wait.

he fell into his own shadow

But then... ah, something. A... tug. His coward's heart began to race. Had they found his feitch? Impossible. But these were creatures who accomplished the impossible with frightening ease. Another tug, this one more insistent... and far away, across a void even he could not bridge with his thoughts, an insistent pull. In that pull, the dragon knew rage, fear, and the sudden, spiteful shattering of his victory - and was comforted, after a fashion. Triumph was a stranger to him, but these other things were old and lovingly hated companions.

and found himself imprisoned

And so the Dragon fell. There was nothing around him. Nothing that any of his senses could detect - no purchase for the tenebrous, slime-dripping shadows of his mind to latch upon. And so he fell, screaming his terror into the infinite abyss. It occurred to him that this was what dying must have been like for his Neverborn kin - the unnatural unmaking of everything that was. Terror filled his souls, and he thrashed in that infinite blackness - until something *cracked,* and light poured through.

he could not break the chains

Something was wrong. The Dragon's mind began to spin once more. He was not dead. He had tried being dead before, had touched the mad, broken things that had once been his hated siblings, and he knew that what he felt now was not the endless screaming insanity that passed for existence among them. Instead, there was a sensation he knew well - the binding of ineffable chains upon his soul, the intolerable leashing of his will to that of someone or something else. He rose - and found, to his hissing anger, that he was trapped not in his terrifying draconiform jouten, but in a broken parody of his human form - an oddly angular shadow, impenetrable and unbroken in the rough shape of a man.

so, smiling, he broke himself

The Dragon stood, looking around. He mustered the sneering contempt that filled the void where courage would be in another creature and turned his gaze towards the horizon. There was life here - and where there was life, there were tools and playthings. And he had been... imprisoned? Perhaps, but there were opportunities here, even if, at present, he could not exploit them. He was used to turning weaknesses into weapons, after all... and as he pulled himself from the crater of vitrified black glass where he had wounded the world upon his entry, he vowed that he would thank whoever brought him here for the opportunity. Of course, they probably wouldn't be in a position to understand him when he was done.

William stirred and tired to sit up. That blast as the last gate was destroyed had sent him sprawling to the ground. But when he looked about, he knew he was not on a battlefield in the lands of the Picts anymore. He couldn't see Sir Lindon, or the ghost Empress, Naevia. None of his troops were with him, even his personal guard was missing. He was alone.

Then, he realized in horror that he couldn't feel the Grail anymore. It was even worse than after Glastonbury. He looked searched his gear and looked about and it confirmed his fear. He'd lost the Shard.

Suddenly, he heard something rustle in the scrub nearby. He immediately leapt to his feet and drew his sword.

"Who's there?!"

At peace with his final act, and knowing it the only way to truly save his friends - and indeed, the world - Sherlock does the unthinkable, and takes a step back. Moriarty firmly in tow, they hurtle t'wards the bleak teeth of the Reichenbach Falls below. His eyes open until the last, Sherlock sees everything. Sees, and with his brain, deduces...

..."It appears I'm lost," a sufficiently vexxed young Sherlock mumbles. Taking a look around, he familiarizes himself with his surroundings, and dismissing them, travels with the Sun. From the taste and feel of the air, he knows he's not near a city. From the weight at his back, he knows his bag and computer are with him. He's no longer wet, and his nose is no longer broken. Indeed, none of the days' struggles seem to have afflicted him - an oddity, but not one that he would complain about just yet.

On his journey he performs a multitude of tests and studies. He still bled and felt pain, his memory and mind were fine, his laptop unbroken, still fully charged, the air and soil were slightly basic, and he could see approximately 2 kilometres farther than he could in London - typical of areas devoid of heavy carbon emissions. He'd just begun researching some basic camping techniques when he startles, nearly throwing his laptop - "WRAURHGHAH!" he shouts wordlessly at it, "WHOOOAARUGH," a bit better this time - "WHAT'SGOINGONIDEMANDANEXPLANATIONFORTHIS!" Visibly upset, he settles in for some deductive reasoning...

After some hours of very silly activities, involving the flapping of arms, visualizations, and running starts, he deduces he isn't dreaming. While it was possible he was dead and in Hell, that theory would be saved for later. Some more time later, no knowledge he possessed allowed him to successfully upload any information at all. Not a single handshake, ping, or request left his computer. Which was preposterous, of course, as everyone knows that an object that transmits no information doesn't exist. But by all the evidence he could muster, he was... at the Reichenbach Falls. Dab on it. Every tracking site, every gps location, every report, all had his laptop signal pegged firmly at the very edge of the falls. Preposterous. "Holmes Missing!" was making headlines everywhere - even in the Americas! How he loathed the thought of having clumsy Americans in his rooms, shuffling everything around.

Sadly, even this anger did not produce flames or cause him to grow wings or create ominous music. Lacking even basic data, even a hunch to go on, Sherlock grumpily packs up and gets a move-on. The sun is setting and he needs to make camp. He'd not seen much in the way of predatorial signs, but perhaps they're airborn... no, no pellets, they always leave pellets...

A rift in space and time opened. From the void of all light emerged forth a being whose mere presence cast a shadow on its surroundings. Although it was visible, the being reflected no light, as if its mere existance was anathema. The being is an alien monstrosity too. Three legs ending in razor-sharp points served as its legs, where two such things served as hind legs. Three mighty horns erupted from the creature's "head," appearing stylized almost as if a cruel mockery of a regal crown. This is complimented by multiple thick follicles along the creature's backside ending in bright orange apexes that billow like a cape. Most notably of all, inside the creature's webbed mouth is a bright glowing orange core.

The Emperor Ing was plucked from its dimension at the moment of its death for what purpose, it is not sure. One thing is for certain: With the last of the energy probably long-gone by now, the World has probably collapsed under its own weight. With no other options, the massive anathema to light examines its surroundings.

The last of them fell, melting into sickening necrotic Essence. The floor was covered in blood and bodies, the walls nearly shattered from the force of his power. The Jade Pleasure Dome was in turmoil, stray and deflected attacks had struck the crowd and killed or severely wounded several bystanders. Sol Invictus let out a long breath, his molten orichalcum blood seeping from many wounds. He was hurt, and he knew it. With the light of the Daystar dimmed in Creation, his power was lower than it had ever been since the moment of his birth. He refused to fall, this shroud was only temporary. He could already feel his strength beginning to return. But that growing warmth was pierced by a shard of the deepest cold as one last assassin struck, plunging a dagger into his back.

Now he did fall, first to his knees and then flat on the floor. His killer stood triumphant, but ultimately foolish. Seeing the Godspear next to it's fallen master, the treacherous Abyssal seized it up, thinking it a trophy. But no sooner did he hold the pilfered weapon aloft than it's power burned him to cinders. Using the last of his ebbing power, he called out to his Exalted, his Princes of the Earth, and sent them one last message. "Avenge me." He instilled in them a fervent hatred for the one responsible for his demise, and drove them to save the world in his absence. Sol closed his eyes, even as he could hear the sound of other gods and his own Exalted rushing to his aid, moments to late, and wondered if he might actually die before they could reach him. But before that question could be answered, he felt himself fall. He felt as if he was falling through the air, he could smell trees and flowers, something not common in Yu Shan.

He opened his eyes, and for the first time in a long time (not counting assassins, he ruefully reminded himself) he was surprised. He was high above a forest, falling fast. The Aegis was on his back and the Godspear in his hand, but he felt different, diminished somehow. He was also not wearing his usual armor, and he could feel a caste mark on his brow. How novel. Had he died? Did slain gods come to this new world instead of being subsumed back into the Wyld? No, he did not think he was dead. He had been taken when he was still alive, and brought to this place. he could see a sun, but he sensed it was very different from his Daystar. The world below was not like Creation, it was...round? A globe, how quaint. He could see he was about to land though, maybe he could find some answers.

The forest is shaken by a thunderous crash, and Sol Invictus stands up in the crater formed by his impact. He immediately notes the lack of spirits in this forest, this place was vastly different than the world he came from. He sets out to explore this place, perhaps he can find a way home. He feels a moment of concern for Creation, but Luna and the Maidens could handle things there, especially with the Solars now rallied to it's defense. He should have slain the Ebon Dragon when he had the chance. When a Primordial's feitch soul was killed, it changed them, changed their natures. If his wretched father's nature had been changed, perhaps he could not escape so easily...

A man in a black coat looks around wordlessly at a world so different that any he has ever visited before, so normal. He then attempts to leave the world through the darkness, but discovers that he cannot. He shows no surprise to this. Indeed, he does not feel any surprise to this. A normal human may have felt surprise, but again, he does not. Two Dusks then appear, squirming around their leader in a way only they can.

His main method of transportation unavailable, Xemnas begins to simply walk forward.

The Ebon Dragon - Unknown Location (Convergence)

The Dragon could taste life on the air. To his pleasure, he found that although it was light, the sun did not have the particular effects of Creation's blazing light - It cast shadows, but did not burn away the dark as Sol's fiery engine did.

But there... was that not a taste of his wayward son? He stiffened, his umbral outline quavering as he detected the presence of a number of lesser beings in the area as well - some of them with emanations curiously reminiscent of his own, their own internal darkness resonating with his. He rubbed his hands together, approaching cautiously, wary of that familiar strand - could it be that the Unconquered Sun had survived? It seemed impossible, but then so too should the Rebellion have been...

Trust me, for Sherlock, 4 arms and a bunch of monsters is the LEAST interesting part of this debacle. He has important things to worry about, like his experiments going untended (poor Baxter!), his imminent death as soon as this hallucination ends, and the fear that if He's still alive, so too could be Moriarty. Once the more pressing concerns are dealt with, or until he can be sure no new information about them will come up the easy way, he can start indulging himself in your... irregularities. Remember! Sherlock Holmes Observes Everything, and from what he observes, he Deduces everything. Whatever is left once the impossible has been eliminated, no matter how improbable, must be the truth. Everything else is simply finding the most efficient way to rule what's impossible - a skill that gets easier the more observing one does.

"Oh, I don't know. " said a smooth, silky voice. "I've observed a considerably amount of history, and empire seems to be the way of things. Or, at least, the imposition of dominion. Kingdom, Empire, Oligarchy, even Commune - they all end up being roughly the same, except perhaps in name" the Dragon tittered as he entered the clearing to find.... strangers. There was an air of familiarity about one of them - a massive, perfectly-proportioned figure that he felt he should remember for some reason - but he could not quite place it. But he had other things to gnaw on for the moment. Most of them were, like his current prison of living shadow, humanoid in form - though there was that one interesting thing. It had a certain... flavor to it that reminded of himself, or, oddly enough, Isidoros.

He spread his arms wide, long-fingered hands open in a gesture of welcome and benediction, his voice growing lower and sweeter. "Ah, but allow me to introduce myself - I, like you, am a prisoner here, drawn across the void by a will external to myself. Something of which I am less than appreciative."

Something is achingly familiar about the armoured knight, though what, he hasn't the slightest. Something to mull-over in his mind palace, later. For now, he had faces to read, reactions to gauge, and too many questions floating around.

First addressing the armoured man, "Britannia is where I live, though perhaps not as you know it. In fact, my own brother is a rather important member of the courts set up in my time. I'm sure you'll have much to tell me of yourself in the long, dreary hours and days we'll be stuck here. I suggest, however, that regardless of current perceived allegiances and politics, in light of our situation we truce."

Turning to address the others, hands on his hips he begins with the man who followed him back here. "You first - Yes my planet is a sphere - and happens to orbit a star. And unless the motion of the star in this place is a cleverly staged light, I would venture that we too are on a ball of mud orbiting an explosion. Oh, how droll."

Facing the robed newcomer, "You," he says, "Will need to show me how you did that."

Turning and facing the dark monstrosity, "The sheer amount of contempt you are currently exerting for all that I know of the physical universe just by existing as a... real... thing - makes your statement far more ironic than it should be."

And finally, to the dramatist, "If you have a way of opening a portal to another world, then you're the most important person in my life right now. I suggest you tie yourself to me so that we don't get separated, or wander off."

To them all, he says, "As far as I can tell, we are at the brink of the Reichenbach Falls, and I am imagining all of you, all of this. I've been here for 4 hours. I don't know what some of you are, and there's a chance I don't want to know. But if any of you have any ideas, I'll be looking for food - they were probably boring ideas, anyways."

Edit: because I missed a couple late ones,

"You," he says to the newcomer, "know something, or at least more than anyone else has let on. You'll be joining him." he points to the Org13 operative, "At my wrist."

The Dragon blinked - or would have, had he possessed eyes. As it was, his voice registered genuine surprise. "I am of creation, yes... yes, a fine thing to meet you. A welcome sense of familiarity in a strange land. The implications of this meeting rushed through the Dragon's thoughts... but inwardly he smiled his toothy, malevolent smile. From Creation the stranger might be, but plainly ignorant of his nature. Some lesser creature then - yet the taste of power about him. A newborn Exalt, perhaps? It was strange. When the Dragon tried to take the shape of the creature's strength, he found it resisted his probing - and he feared to unveil too much of himself, lest he be discovered. For now, discretion.

Even as his mind wheeled, he continued speaking in his smooth, comforting patter. "A round world? What a curious conceit. Does its Omphalos lie in its core? "

The Ebon Dragon

"Perhaps you are plucked from a different time than I, then." He said politely - suspecting now that this creature was some deluded Solar from the First Age. This could be... interesting. "For Creation in my time is ruled by usurpers and betrayers who murdered their rightful masters - and woe to them, for those they raised up to govern them have inflicted more suffering through malice and incompetence than any punishment could have rendered." His tone was sad, rather than angry - an ocean of unspilled tears, pity for those poor souls unable to see the righteousness of their rulers, regret that the brutes had no appreciation for the gentle yoke laid upon them, and now suffered for their ill-planned rebellion.

He turned to the strange little creature who was trying to address everyone at once - Sherlock, had he called himself? I welcome your truce. I am by nature a creature of peace, and violence is anathema to my soul. As for what I am hiding... " he shrugged There are things I am forbidden to speak of, and much knowledge which would not... translate well, I suspect. But I suppose you will have to judge for yourself the purity of my intent."

He caught the words of the white-haired figure, and he felt that toothy grin wanting to stretch the corners of his mouth. That one had... potential. So many empty spaces in his soul to fill.

He considered producing food at the request of that strange little human, but thought better of it - what he produced would have a certain flavor, and it was one he would rather not expose that Solar-like creature to. Not yet, while he was still wary and fresh. Though perhaps, in time... he could always use more Akuma.

"Why? Trails are only useful if we want trackers or to return to this place. We haveno food here nor allies following. And I doubt you could learn. It takes years to learn how to properly utilize a Rite of Conquest, which first involves beating the Holder in a fair fight."
Pakli asks of the Knight "Why do you wear such heavy armour? No-one of my world does without enchanting it to be featherlight and able to move. It is rather shoddy craftsmenship too, not a single magical weld. I can think of 7 ways of disabling it right now. Watch."
He hits several different spots, faster than the eye can see, causing the whole thing to dismantle, undamaged, onto the ground.

Sol sighs, his shoulders slumping. "Yes, the curse placed on them was cruel, I did not learn of it for far to long, and when I did I was hopelessly trapped in the Games. I do not know how I could have missed such a masterful counterstroke. If I had not been to constrained from taking part in the war, perhaps I could have taken on the burden for myself."

The Ebon Dragon

The Dragon was puzzled by that last comment. There was some part of him that held an answer - a part that was shackled within his own hollow heart, thrashing and screaming with the desire to break free... but no matter how he clawed at the walls of that prison, it remained closed to him. That, in turn, gnawed like an insect between his scales, and so he sought distraction. He turned to the swordsman, his voice low and respectful.

"Your skills are truly inestimable, swordsman. I would ask if you were an Exalt, but I can see that is not the case. It reassures me that you will be on our side." Besides, he was secretly delighted at the ruin of the other warrior's armor - it was so deliciously petty, to see something of careful artistry so casually broken.

Hearing the Solar's words, he turned his head-analogue towards the hated hero and nodded once, "Yes... so much suffering could have been averted... but perhaps there will be a chance for proper recompense and restoration in the near future."

"If you believe that any gathering of beings will remain pure then either you are naive or an imbecile. Tell me, Knight of Arthur, have you not faced betrayers? Rebels? Heck, has you king even passed unfair laws? Over time the betrayers and rebels do it for a reason, to get rid of classes or nobles or unfit rulers. I have seen many such rulers and many such betrayers in my many years working as a, well let's just say a pest controller."
Pakli finds something about that amusing and starts giggling to himself.
"I know betrayal all too well. But even the lowest of the low are nothing when compared to a Fomorian. They exist solely to corrupt and destroy. I am more than a knight. I am William Pendragon, son of the Once and Future King, Crown Prince of Britannia and bearer of one of the shards of the Holy Grail."

"From where do you hail? Logres? Bedegraine? Wales? Eboracum?"

Xemnas turns to William, ignoring the Emperor.

Brittania? Your world, I presume. Organization XIII has not yet found a portal to it, so we would have no way of harming it. Nor do I think it would hold much interest to us.
At this, William points his sword at the strange man.

"Be you of Balor's spawn?!"

The perceived insult to his father's reign does nothing for William's already overtaxed nerves.
"You know nothing of my father or Camelot!"

A disporportionately quiet rumbling across the ground heralds the arrival of the large anathema to light. From the orb in its "mouth" it seems to gaze upon the whole of the group.
A dark voice echoes over. How is it possible that such small creatures could create this much noise?
The arrival of this...thing causes William to feel nauseous. It looked almost exactly like a Fiendspitter or some other monstrous Fomorian.

He is now quite uncertain of where to point his sword.

The Dragon said nothing, only nodding towards the Solar - and for once he was glad he had no mouth with which to smile as he watched the warriors bickering with each other like a pack of street mongrels. He couldn't help but indulge himself just a little - a subtle shiver of essence in the air that made pride brittle and assured each man of his righteousness. It was a hot-metal scent in the air, the promise of ill-timed words and spilled blood - a sick, hungry feeling in every stomach, accompanied by a certitude of victory. Oh, let these fools draw blades! self-righteous ichor staining the ground had the sweetest smell.

William, seeing that he didn't really stand a chance without an army alongside him, sheathes his sword.

He regards the man who dismantled his armor first.

"My artifacts apparently were lost when I was brought here. And the weight of one's armor is nothing to a well-trained knight. I do not know how things are with you, but the mystical tools of my people are rare and sacred, passed down from one generation to the next, or won in battle."

"I have only encountered a few Fomorians that resemble insects, and they are much, much larger, standing at the height of ten men, or three giants. I would not jest about the spawn of the One-Eyed God. Things that can possess a man and turn him into a monster are no laughing matter."

The Ebon Dragon's flicker of emotion made a sour taste in William's mouth. It was a feeling similar to the one he'd felt on the battlefield for many years now, but here it felt different. It reminded him more of Morgawse's spells than the corruption. He shut his eyes and focused on pushing past it, saying a brief prayer.

"May God grant us the wisdom to see the right, the will to choose it and the strength to make it last. Amen."

He begins girding his armor once again.

The Dragon knew disappointment when the other shrugged off the subtle net of his weaving. No white-hot flares of deadly temper, no blades drawn with cold intent. Still... there were always other opportunities. The fact that he might have needed these creatures, that his efforts were counter to his own self-interest was conveniently ignored. Such was the nature of all the broken titans, but the Dragon was particularly insatiable in his self-indulgence. Still, the part of his mind that at a casual glance might be called rational decided that everything had gone as planned - the test had taken the measure of these beings, just as he'd intended. Excellent.

He looked at the monstrosity in front of him - the strangeness of its form didn't register with the Dragon, though his knowledge of humanity told him that some of these others were exceptional for being so blase about it. Humans had been created as cattle, essentially, and like cattle they spooked easily.

"Death seems unlikely. In our home realm" he indicated the Solar "Death is ordered. A disrupted order, it is true, but there is a process. This is not it."

He nodded enthusiastically at the armored one's suggestion. He was proving surprisingly useful for all his oafish demeanor.

The same couldn't be said for the other warrior's question. It struck too close to things he would rather were kept secret. In the dusty, pedantic voice of a scholar, he said That is a rather complicated matter, and would take a very long time to explain - but in short, Creation is ruled by the gods of Yu-Shan in the matter of large, cosmic matters and the Exalted - mighty mortal heroes - in terrestrial matters. I don't know what a multi-verse is - beyond our realm, there is only the Wyld. Or so we thought.

Well, that wasn't actually true - the Dragon was well aware of the Well of Urdr, after all. But he wasn't about to spill that particular tidbit.

The Dragon waxed nostalgic at the man's antics. Both his device - some form of magitech? - and his methods reminded him of Autocthon, with hints here and there of his dear sister's coldly analytical personality. The Dragon wondered idly if he would provide the same entertainment as those two. Beings who built always had something new to break.

Still, his plans had potential - and although the Dragon found the idea of such mundane necessities odious, there were always snarls to work into a weaving. "I have no need for food or shelter, but I agree that it would serve us to have a base of operations - and I would be more than happy to help provide you with your necessities." The magnanimity of the Dragon knew no bounds, after all. "However, we may wish to consider that it is likely we were brought here for a purpose, by an entity of... disturbing potency." "Honestly, it depends on who you ask where I come from. I learned it like this: There is our world, the world of the living, and then there are places where one may enter the Otherworld, which is divided into three main areas. The first is Tir na nOg, the Realm of Twilight and Thorns, home of the mysterious race known as the Sidhe, sometimes known as faeries. Tir na nOg is generally accessible through actual gates there, most of which are gone now, and through special ancient forests we call Deepwoods. The second realm is Samhain, a cold home for the dead. Mortals generally can't get there without the aid of powerful magic, like a shard of the Grail, and the spirits there sometimes break through and wreak havoc in the mortal world. Finally there is a place with no name that's beyond even Samhain. We don't know what it's called, only that it's somewhere else. This is the home of the Fomorians, and it is from there they create their vile nethergates to wound the land and spread their corruption. And beyond that...other place...is the place beyond worlds, a void that none are able to enter. That is where Balor the One-Eyed, the monster the Fomorians proclaim to be their god, was imprisoned by the heroes of the Sidhe many centuries ago. As to who rules the worlds...that is a question of faith. I and my friend King Galahad will tell you that it is God, the Father through his son Christ Jesus. Merlin and his allies among the Sidhe will tell you the that the Gods of the Old Faith rule: Lugh, Dana, Nuada and so on. The truth is not something that can be known."

When Sherlock proposes getting their bearings by being tossed in the air, William looks concerned.

It's just that, except for very specific instances, it's considered wrong to return the dead to life. That was what destroyed any shred of humanity possessed by Emperor Septimus Sulla. I concur, throwing him would be a foolish idea. In any case, since we are explaining our worlds, I suppose it is my turn.

The worlds we inhabit are plagued by darkness, and when a person's heart is consumed by it, they become a Heartless. They are weak, mindless creatures, but ordinary people cannot hurt them. Sometimes, though, an especially strong-willed person can survive the loss of their heart, becoming a "Nobody". Most Nobodies are rather weak, like these two Dusks you see following me. However, there are 13 people, myself included, that became Nobodies and yet kept our original forms. Together, we are Organization XIII, and our goal is the mystical force known as Kingdom Hearts, the heart of hearts, the heart of all worlds. With it, we will be able to reclaim our lost hearts. This is not my goal, however. The power of the human heart is vast, but possessing one is not something I desire, as it is only a weakness. Instead, I will use Kingdom Heart's vast power to create my own new world.

The Ebon Dragon

The idea of "good" and "bad" humans and the appropriate "rewards" almost made the Dragon laugh out loud. One might as well compare the merits of two sacks full of water. He did not feel admiration, but he paid the idea his greatest complement of considering its theft. Such a system would be inherently unfair and arbitrary - but, by His Own Name, think of what people could be convinced to do if they could not only be convinced that they would be eternally rewarded, but shown the tangible possibility of such rewards.

Of course, on second consideration the idea soured. Why bother with the effort of actually creating such realms when people were so stupid and easily duped?

"Our own world has but one realm of the dead - and it is an anomaly. In the beginning, all souls were immediately purified and reborn into the world, but the deaths of certain unkillable beings created a sort of... infection in reality - the Underworld. A realm of ghosts forever locked in passion plays. A curious existence."

He looked at the Nobody, a flicker of interest in his own hollow heart. "Curious resonance of your own existence - although with an excess of emotion being the source of their strength, rather than the lack thereof."

"Because it's a terrible Idea" Holmes mimics sardonically, "Perhaps I was wrong, and I'm not hallucinating. If that's the case, you've just spent the past while talking about a glorious and just empire, built on the backs of mortals and their servants - and you're telling me you can't even throw one in the air so he can make you a map?"

"Nothing was built on the backs of mortals. It was built on a mountain."

"Blessed is he who believes without seeing. That's what faith is all about: trusting that God will take care of the things you can't figure out. Travel to Tir na nOg is possible, but the Sidhe tend to become angry when mortals trespass in their realm, unless they're changelings, mortal children that the Sidhe have kidnapped to raise as warriors to fight for them. Samhain is only accessible through very hard to reach gates, and once you get there there's no guarantee you'll leave. The dead there are hostile to the living, seeking to possess their bodies and leave. And if by cleric, you mean priest, that's simply not possible. Monks and priests are simply men, with no magic to call upon, and the druids seek to preserve the balance of the world, including that of life and death. The most I, a blessed soul and the son of the Once and Future King can do, is call people back from the brink, and that is not so much necromancy as it is last-second healing. And even Merlin, the most powerful of all wizards is incapable of the feats you describe."

The Ebon Dragon

The Dragon nearly applauded the armored knight - Blind faith was one of his favorite tools. More atrocities had been committed in the name of oblivious worship and dogmatic faith than almost anything else - saving, of course, the Primordial War. Well, at least among normal mortals. Exalted tended to be more difficult to ensnare in such webs, since independence and self-determination were inherent in their nature. But when they were... Oh, the things they could do! He nearly shivered at that. Whole regions reduced to bone and black ash. Entire peoples enslaved and ground under the heel. And most delicious of all - the deluded fools inevitably told themselves they were in the right. Every spilled drop of blood and every tear shed was like a prayer to the Dragon, and he grew fat on the spoils of hypocrisy. No doubt this man would prove bountiful.

"The Fair Folk - we know them, too - ours are likewise organized in courts. They are... terrible creatures, for the most part. Consumers of souls and slavers of children. But they are bound by their own need to be stories - to make themselves into living tales and sagas. They cannot define themselves in any other way, since they are empty - mere scraps of narrative given physical form. Pathetic creatures, really." Said the Dragon with a sneer, his soul burning with the vitriolic irony.

William kneels and begins extending his senses over the area. It was more magic of the ancients. The spiritwalking he'd learned in Stormrend, when that warlock separated him from his body. One of the small creatures looks at your group. “You guys don’t look like any normal creature in Hyrule, what area are you from?”
This area is Kokiri Forest (http://www.zeldawiki.org/Kokiri_Forest), if you did not know already. Remember that even if your character knew about this forest before being collected, they no longer know anything about this area.

The Dragon examined the creatures. While these buffoons were busy focusing on the flesh, the Ebon Dragon focused on the senses of the spirit. Unfortunately, these creatures did not follow the familiar motonic patterns with which he was familiar - and yet he could tell that there was more to them than a whisp of story and a simulacrum of a soul. Still, if this turned to violence, all to the good - these cretins would no doubt feel guilt about the murder of these vermin at a later date, and that was something he could use.

That went out the windows when the creatures started mewling, however. Their protestations of innocence would no doubt be believed by enough of the dupes to prevent bloodshed, barring his direct intervention - which would be problematic in and of itself. No, now was a time to act - but to cement his own position, rather than sow discord.

"Peace, my friends." He said, speaking especially to the Solar. "These aren't Fair Folk - not Rakshasa, in any case. Their flesh is of a more mortal sort, and they are possessed of souls. Though the... texture, I suppose, is unfamiliar."

He turned to address the "Kokiri," his voice soft and calm."We mean you no harm - we're simply searching for a way out of this place - this world, that is. Sherlock has found no small delight in experiments and tinkering in his time, but this was a truly invigorating experience - No silly noise laws, no one limiting his access to chemicals and explosives, no one asking pesky questions at the border, no one to get mad at him for bloodying everything.

Once he'd bored with smoothing the area, freeing it of grass and debris in a perfect circle of considerable distance, he took his scimitar from its current leadened hiding spot in his coat, and began hacking down smaller roundish trees, rolling them to camp. Levering the 'table' onto them, he rolled it neatly to the center of the camp.

He also managed to get enough scrub to properly layer over his lean-to, built a number of bowls, spears, and utensils, and when he finally nicked himself on a buried knot in the wood for a bow (the violin sort), he marched down to the stream to gather some water and his spit himself.

At the end of the day, a number of signs, small traps, alarm triggers, and nasty surprises ring the camp, and after a big serving of fowl, he falls quickly to sleep under his coat.

... Did not bother to introduce himself. That would spoil all the fun - besides, he had avoided doing so thus far, and he saw no point in doing anything else. "We come from... other places, as my companion says." The shadow-made-solid said in his soft, sibilant voice. "We're more curious about you, my dear, and what you might know about this world... and, perhaps, if there's any way we can help you."

"Of course, milady. I'm just used to giving that introduction when meeting representatives of foreign lands such as yourself. As for where I myself hail from, I...was...from the island kingdom of Britannia, once ruled by my father, King Arthur, and protected by his Knights of the Round Table, but fractured and corrupted after an attempt on his life was made. I reunified the kingdom and healed him, but somehow in the process I was transported to this place. I fear I know as little about what is going on as you do."

I have a companion at our home who seems to be quite intelligent and very little in the way of combat forms, a Rite of Conquest for his smarts or logic would be quite worthwhile. "Doesn't your world have Rites? Then how the hell do you trade? Pure gold is worthless when you get to the mid levels of Magic infusion and the Wish Economy starts up above that level.
Rites are Magical Duels where the two opponents bet either the ownership of a magical item. Or a skill they have, learned or natural, or even gained through other Rites. The winner is the one that doesn't surrender or falls unconscious. Or dies but they are brought back from that at the end.
The Loser relinguishes control over the bet item, but not the ability, though the winner gains the ability just like the loser.
There is a Magical Compulsion to fight to the best of a person's abilities but most Traders have an ability called Throwing, which resists that temptation to allow them to lose the fight by holding back. Pity it happens to be the one thing that cant be bet as a Rite."

Kazakhstan

The Four had been defeated. Ambrose had been rescued. And the world was finally going to be the way Elijah had been hoping it would be-would continue to be-for over a century. Strange and beautiful and full of wonder.

No more lost years, for him or for anyone. There were still secrets to be ferreted out, still mysteries to solve, still cases to crack and conspiracies to be brought into light...but the biggest had been dismantled. A century's worth of impeded progress now unleashed onto a world that had grown accustomed to the merest fraction of what they were capable of.

The celebration was still raging in the Planetary Office in New York. By now, Jakita had probably challenged the lot of them to a drinking contest. Elijah didn't mind. He wasn't one for parties.

There is a bar in a remote region of Kazakhstan where no local goes, and few ever return to. It was underground-both figuratively and literally; many nations of both honest and sinister intention would dearly love to find it. But the place was one of the few secrets that Elijah would be keeping from the wider public. It appealed to him.

The bar was called the Last Shot, and it was located in a missile testing facility. It was staffed by a rogue cabal of nuclear physicists and theologians, who had discovered that Heaven and Hell were nothing more than seige engines pushing against each other, fueled by the electromagnetic fields that were the souls of humanity. Those that came here usually did for one purpose: to have their last drinks, and then to strap themselves to a test device, and as their bodies burned in nuclear fire, their souls would be utterly destroyed by the accompanying EMP, and they would have cheated both the Powers Above and the Forces Below. The Triumphant Dead.

Or so they believed, anyway. Elijah came to the bar for two reasons. Because it was private, and because the other patrons kept to themselves.

Elijah walked into the Last Shot, and was promptly ignored by the bartender-as usual. An Old-Fashioned cocktail, a booth with a candle, and memories to reminisce over. A job very, very well done.

Then his hand starts shaking. His vision is starting to blur. He looks around, but the bar is empty; he can't see the bartender. Something in his drink.

His thoughts begin to run together. He wonders who's responsible for it. But he doesn't panic. He keeps himself calm and centered, even as he falls into unconsciousness. He remembers the triumphant gloating of the leader of the Four.

It's a game, Mister Snow.

And he remembers their final confrontation.

Elijah Snow collapses onto the concrete floor of the Last Shot, and awaits what fate will befall him next.

The Ebon Dragon

Upon hearing the creature's request, the Ebon Dragon nearly laughed aloud. Pure Chaos, what fools these mortals be! "As You Wish!" He intoned in a deep basso voice so unlike his normal rasping whisper, and a road began to form along their present course - but not just any road. Into this road were woven essence-patterns inimical to the very presence of this forest. Subtle but inevitable, they spoke of the allure of far away places and stranger's faces, beckoning the forest's occupants away... and at the same time, there was a sort of siren song to it - a call that would bring outsiders with greed in their heart, eager to exploit the insipid little vermin who called this place home. Oh, it might take months, even years - such was their subtlety that even he could not have noticed them if he had not known they were there, and the emotions they inspired were nothing more than a focusing of extant energies. But no matter how petty the malice, it was a delight to the Dragon.

Strange, though. He hadn't intended to make the road out of yellow bricks. Most... curious. Perhaps some property of this place? Damn, but he wanted to be quit of it.

He would be able to find her at last. A few hours later he landed. He opened the ships hatch as he stepped out onto solid ground. "You don't understand me at all," Luc said quietly as the group rushed up the stairs to meet him. He knew he couldn't handle their combined might, but it disappointed him that they'd not seen that they were being used. By threatening the True Wind Rune, he brought upon himself the wrath of the other True Runes, and by extension, their bearers. If only they could understand that this desire to stop him was not their own, but the will of their runes.

A challenge was set forth, one Luc knew he would never survive. He hadn't planned on surviving anyway, but left to his own devices he would at least have succeeded in ridding the world of this manipulation. All of his planning and strategizing, pouring over Sindarin texts to learn what he needed, and they would destroy it all, simply because they lacked the willpower to make their own decisions.

I am sorry, Sarah. You had such high hopes. Opening himself up his rune, he let the power flow through him. It took all of his considerable ability to shape the flows and swirls of wind, and he knew the process would leave him weak, but perhaps that which he was unleashing could destroy those who sought to see their world destroyed.

Power coursed through him and around him, overwhelming him until suddenly, there was nothingness. The roar and fury of the wind was silent. The manifestation he had summoned was gone from him, as though it had never existed, and it had taken the ruins and the other rune bearers with it.

Exhausted and deadened by the anticlimax of it all, he collapsed to his knees. What was this place? How had he come here? He hadn't teleported, nor had he felt to pull of someone else trying to remove him from harm's way. He was simply somewhere else. Wherever it was, it was nowhere he had any knowledge of. Certainly, there were areas of the world that he'd not seen, but Harmonia's maps were fairly accurate, and this didn't seem to fit in to any of them.

His confusion and shock kept him on the ground for a few minutes before he struggled to his feet. His staff lay beside him, he realized now, and the mask he had given to Sarah not an hour before. Two items he'd left in her protection, inextricably here beside him, though she was nowhere to be found.

Still, if they were here, she couldn't be far. Logic dictated that it must be so. He bent to take his staff. The mask, he placed on his face, hiding his identity just in case the first people he came across were the wrong people. First he would find Sarah, then he would figure out where he was.

As he gripped his right hand around the staff, wind rose up to meet him, a cool breeze. He detected nothing of her in the air. With no leads, he began the slow trek... forward.

What about a being possessed of more than one soul, as some in my world are?"

Anecronwashere

"Then a Duel will not form. This is a magic of the Soul, not of the Mind. It is the Soul that links together.
Poisons wll likely still work and hinder you, but the final blow would have to be from the other.
And I have no idea how multiple souls will work, so I can't answer that."

An invisible field surrounds the two combatants and Pakli assumes a martial stance.
To observers who know stances this is a mid-level form good against charging enemies and lends itself well to an acrobatic style of fighting.

Hmph. To me, these contests seem ridiculous. You may gain a new ability, but not the experience that comes with it. Power without skill, without experience, is meaningless. Still, this should be quite interesting to observe.

Then, I suppose it is not as useless as I thought, though still just as distasteful. But please, let us cease this conversation. I will learn far more through observation than from this needless prattling.

"Needless prattlings all I want these days. Too much blood has soaked these fists.
Besides, I can take him with my eyes closed.
Remember when I disassembled his armour? It went like this."

Pakli jumps forward, striking the same sequence of points as before and following up with a blinding fast flurry of blows ending with a flip-kick to get him out of reach of a counterattack.

William's ready for Pakli this time, raising his arms and summoning freezing cold winds to swirl around him that knock the older combatant back and would definitely cause frostbite if unprotected.

"OOOHHH! That was exciting! Wasn't it?!" He exclaimed with glee while slapping BlackBeard on the back.

"I don't know how many more of our little interactions I can take Doctor..." Black Beard stated wearyingly. "I mean, we just got done hunting a bunch Time-traveling ancient treasure hunters who decided to collect my ship, Doctor..."

"yes The Queen Anne's Revenge is a VERY pretty vessel" The Doctor Interjected.

"Doctor..." BlackBeard Leaned exhaustingly against the mast of his ship. "DECKHAND! BRING ME SOME RUM!"

The Doctor Opened the Big Blue Police Box and stepped inside. "oh... Yes..." The Doctor stuck his head back out of the Police box, "you'll... be fine..", re-entered the police box, stuck his head back out "maybe", re-entered, stuck his head back out, "probably... anyway I have to go do stuff... what kind of stuff? Not sure yet! but stuf it is indeed."

After a bit of roaring noises The strange blue box disappeared.
--------------------------------------------------------------

After Awhile of running around a circular room with a circular pillar with a circular table around the pillar with a bunch of switches and nobs, switching and nobbing said switches and nobs.

"where shall I go? where shall WE go? So many places... so much time... or is it little? Not sure... but there's so much to do... OH... I know... I haven't seen teddy in awhile!" The doctor runs over to a seemingly random switch, "July 1, 1898 it is!"

Suddenly the Blue Police Box(known as the Tardis) begins to shake wildly and smoke. "NO! what's happening to you?! What are they doing to you?! Someone or something is forcing our path!!! NO!" The Tardis begins to spark and set fire. "no... they're killing you..." The Doctor stands in frustration and dumbstruck for the first time. "I... there's nothing I can do..."

Then suddenly A large crash, the Tardis doors fling open throwing the doctor out... The Doctor is currently passed out.

Pakli thrusts his hands forward... But nothing happened.

"M-my Rites. Someone stole my Rites! I spent years collecting those! Grumble grumble"

Pakli Suddenly charges forward, fists pulled back.
Atthe last second before a counterattack will hit Pakli leaps to the left, circling the Knight and going for a roundhouse kick.

Pakli flips over the armoured warrior and aims for specific nerves in the Knight's back, compensating for the armour's diffusion and paralyzing him.

Pakli basks in the flow of the combat.

The Emperor gives off some gluttoral noise that sounds as though it is a mockery of a laugh, if such a thing can even make sense.
Nonsense. Since most of us are only one being, it is a sign of power to have millions willing to die on your whim.

Anecronwashere

"What good is dying when it can be reversed by a simple search through a pile?
An army of a million is just as effective as an army of a billion, which is just as effective as an army of 1.
Power is the ability to fight your own battles yourself rather than make others do it for you.
That's why I gave up the Lordship of Hell. I can't stand all the Power and the people wanting to take it from me."

Emperor Ing
2012-03-09, 11:00 PM
Power is not solely based on raw strength. Wars are fought through the mind as well as the flesh, and can be won or lost through the word. An army of one can be as effective as an army of millions, but why should I choose when I can have an army of one in myself and an army of millions of my sirelings?

Anecronwashere
2012-03-09, 11:04 PM
"Because every fallen ally means a more experienced enemy. Your million sirelings help refine you enemy's technique of combat, leaving you with a lesser chance of defeating them.
Armies have never worked in our world for very long before they were destroyed."

William's reaction time isn't nearly fast enough to stop Pakli, and the blow sends him sprawling to the ground. Pakli feels knowledge flow into him...knowledge that is terrifying. Twisted mockeries of men, flying monsters with whip-like tails, bloated giants with tentacles for hands, and enormous insect-like creatures that could kill a man just by stepping on them. And behind them, horrible gates of flesh and spikes of bone growing out of the blighted ground, and a sickly orangish haze hanging over the sky crackling with profane lightning. But with that comes an understanding of their weak points. Of how they cannot bear the touch of Purity and Life, how both the power of nature and the sign of the cross causes them pain. How while they are fearsome in form, they bleed and die as easily as other foes. These are the Fomorians. The plagued, the possessed, the enemy.

"I've seen worse. Though the weakness to Life is odd. I wonder if it's like Negative and Positive Energy?"

"It is a weakness to them because they exist solely to corrupt everything around them and kill that which they cannot corrupt. By doing so they may wound the land and weaken the prison that holds their master, Balor. The weakness is more spiritual than physical, though. They may not enter sacred places without pain, whether Christian churches or druidic groves, unless the place is corrupted by spilled blood and the corpses of the innocent placed there by their possessed puppets. And now you know why I prefer to fight with a good few hundred men at my side. No one man, no matter how great, can stand against such a host alone."

The Ebon Dragon

"I think you'd be surprised" The Ebon Dragon said in a susurrating voice "I've seen one man - or woman, for that matter - stand against living mountains made of evil dreams, and dragons made from the other side of the sky. Not to mention some truly strange things." The Ebon Dragon did not feel it was pertinent that those things were his brothers and sisters, marginally less hateful in his eyes than the insipid heroes who had opposed them. No reason to get his new... "friends" suspicious.

The Ebon Dragon

The Dragon would have sneered, had he a face. Physical combat. Disgusting. Why place yourself at risk, unless you already had them at your mercy? That was where the true pleasure lay, in dissecting your enemies as they squirmed. Better yet, tearing apart everything they loved, and then their very self-hood, and finally exiling them to the bitter blackness beyond reality where they could scream their eternal idiot torment.

Pure Chaos and empty Void, he hated this place. More than anything, the shackles on his power. If he could only unleash his apocalyptic draconiform jouten, he could cease wasting time on words and get to the screams!

Instead, he said in a pleasant voice. "Quite impressive, your Rites. I know a similar sort of magic, but unfortunately it is unique to my Essence patterns and cannot be taught." Which was a lie, naturally - he had said it after all. He could turn them into Akuma, but he doubted any of them would consent to the necessary rape of the soul that the process entailed. Besides that, doing so would reveal too much of his nature. " Still, for the martial among us, I dare say your power will be more useful than mine in any case, so it is all to the good."

Those who do not start their posts off with their location will be beaten with a newspaper. The Town; Dr Who, Elijah Snow, Fayt and Luc:

You all gain consciousness relatively close to each other. You are in some sort of town square, populated with a multitude of humanoid creatures, and some not-so-humanoid ones.

The town design itself is a mash up of many different design styles from different times and locations. The villagers stare at you four for just a moment, then continue walking to their destination.

As soon as The Doctor regains consciousness he jerks up but still sitting down. He wipes a tear from his right eye for the Tardis that may or may not be destroyed.

"Yes, well," He stands up to looks around for a second and sees all the different races here, all the different architecture. "nothing matches. Nothing seems right. Ooooo, I love adventures. But my tardis, but nothing seems right here. Guess I need to look around abit."

The Doctor turns to His companions next to him. "Hello there, who are you? when are you? I can only imagine that we've been all collected for some purpose. If I have something important and very powerful has done it. And if it's collected me I can only think it's collected everyone or maybe almost everyone here, and their homes, or just some of their home. Well this is interesting indeed." The Doctor finishes with a large smile on his face. "well, this could be VERY fun indeed. So who and when are you?" He turns again to his companions next to him.

In a poorly lit room.

He had been in here how long? Yes, it had been centuries. Centuries in this place, the place build by his master so long ago, still as strong and durable as ever. "Dwarven workmanship, the finest in the land." his master words echoed in his mind. The Golem smiled, for the heart was almost done and he would see his master again soon.

Hours pasted, and the runes covering the heart were coming along well. Only a few more and he was done. Three more, now two more. He was on the last one now, excitement welling up inside him. This journey had began when he was given soul and personality over two thousand years prior, and it would now end with a single rune, etched onto his very being.

He started weaving the energy into the appropriate shape, the rune about to form on the surface, when a great force hit him. Staggered, he looks around and see nothing. He is about to start working again when another wave hits, this one pulling him slightly out of reality. Something was trying to take him. "No, not now, I'm so close." he though as he tried his hardest to separate himself from the outside world, to shield himself in his own place where no one but him had any power. The third tug came, and it was too much, he was long from his home, surrounded in blackness. Sorrow took him, as for the first time in his life, he lost consciousness.

Town; Town Square

Luc stared at the man who'd approached him. The way he dressed seemed odd, but then, so did everything else about this place. Stranger yet was the way the man spoke. The dialect was different, but not difficult to understand. It was the content of the words, and perhaps simply the amount of them, that put Luc aback at first. It was as if the man spoke every thought in his head without thinking first of whether or not there was a point.

But the inquisitive look at the open question hanging between them forced Luc's hand. "I am Luc and I am... now. I would like to know where, but I'll settle for who, you are."

"Ah Yes, Sorry, introductions, you may call me The Doctor or just Doctor if you like. So Luc, where are you from?" The Doctor pulls out a strange metallic cylindrical object, flicks it, holds it in the air for just a moment. While He does this the object makes a weird buzzing noise.

The doctor looks at the side of the object, "interesting! The air from right here," the Doctor jumps to the left about 5 inches, "Is from a different dimension then the air right here."

The flash of light occurs

The Doctor whips around to face the flash with his object pointed at it as if he is getting ready to fight whatever just appeared. As soon as the flash is over and the Doctor can see whats now infront of him lowers his arm and the object."ooh, hello. where you just transported here too?" The Doctor puts his object back into his jacket breast inner pocket. "I could only imagine so or how else could you be here?" the Doctor said quieter as if he was talking to himself.
