Specific Counterspells

The players handbook says that some spells specifically counter other spells. Darkness and Light for example. They say it in the spell descriptions.

Without reading every single spell and making notes, how could I find out all the pairs?

I tried searching the SRD for the word "counter" but the results were not what I wanted.

You could try searching for "counters and dispels." That's generally the wording.

Try "counters" instead (in quotes.)

You could do it on a by-case basis. Usually people don't have spells prepared just in case it could be used as a counterspell. But say someone starts casting cone of cold, a fireball probably can stop it even though it was prepared to do damage.
