Labyrinth Lord

Yeah, I think LL is pretty awesome. The core book pretty much emulates Holmes / Moldvay ''B/X'' D&D (I started with Holmes Basic), while there are supplements to include Advanced-style (Advanced Edition Companion) and oD&D-style (Original Edition Companion) play options. Also check out Realms of Crawling Chaos, which adds a Lovecraftian ''Swords & Sanity'' spin. LL is your basic (harhar - no, really) OSR experience; I feel that the Holmes-style rules do a great job of capturing the simpler end of early D&D.
