The Steel Sovereign is uneasy. He had spent the uncountable eons since his last meddlings with mortals had gone poorly, the other gods fleeing after he may have accidentally invented necromancy and then also accidentally released it onto the world. That was a mistake he had learned from. Suddenly, there is a new awareness on his conciousness. A new world. This one would turn out better. In doing so, he departs from his sanctum to this new land.

When he arrives, there is little, the few gods already arrived having shaped little. With that in mind he begins to create. ">>Metal is needed for technology to flourish." he rumbles to himself. ">>This should do for a start." And with this, he makes the barrens on the northern continent rise into shining, gleaming plains (http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?multiverseid=48408) of metal.

Tyreng; The Devil-King

Tyreng looked down on the world and proceeded to hawk up some vile substance and spit it onto the world. "And thus my reign will begin! A Great Wolf to... watch... upon the sheep. Such a joyous occasion." What was created could hardly be called a wolf; it stood like a man, had bone-like protrusions jutting out at random joint, and it exuded a Hot dry air meters around it which caused a metallic taste when breathed in. The impact caused much of the land around the impact zone to desertify, and this became the realm of The Devil-King's Wolf.

Where his hand touched, life sprang up from the dead ground, grasses and flowers to one day feed and please the mortals yet to be formed. Beasts also arose from the dust, to keep the land from fading, and to prove boon and bane to mortals not yet formed. "There, I have begun to make the world ready, but my power is now near spent. "Change indeed. The question remains: what shall be the purpose and the end? I await your answer, Lord of Battles." The Prince looked down from his throne of silver, and thought, and waited. In time, the brooding god saw that the roll of years passed unmarked and unrecorded save by Tyreng's beast, and resolved himself to place one into the infant world that might watch and remember until the end of time.

So resolved, Arevyx then passed from the realms of the gods, out of the heavens and out of the hells to walk upon the world that the god-kin wrought. Three-score and seven years he walked upon the world, until he had seen and known all that yet was. Finally he stood again in the place he had first touched, and knew his journey was done and the time come. Then alone he drew forth his scepter and made of it a blade, and drew the blood of his hand with it, and cast it to the earth. And where the blade fell, the earth was rent asunder, and the water sprang forth and formed the headwaters of two mighty rivers. In every place where the least drop of the blood of Arevyx fell, living things arose in like measure, full-formed and vital. At the spot where he stood, the Prince touched the earth with his bloodied hand, and from it came a wyrmling whose scales shone with every hue.

There Arevyx smiled upon his child, and lay his bloodied hand upon her head, and bestowed upon her a part of his own power. "Avhekith I name you, child of my blood. Into your power I have given a portion of divinity's measure, that none may stand before you without awe. This land is yours, and all that is in it also. Your life shall be without measure; no beast nor sickness nor the touch of time shall harm you. These gifts I bestow you to do with as you will, with but one commandment. All that you survey, remember, that a record shall be kept from now unto the breaking of the world." From that hour, Arevyx dwelt still in the world half a score and two years, teaching Avhekith the secrets of the heavens and the hells, and of those that dwell in them, and the lore of his arts. At the last, the time grew near for the god-kin to re-affirm their pact, and he parted from the world to return again to them.

"The time has arrived, at last." With that, an island rose from the bottom of the ocean in the southwest. It's northern half dotted with volcanoes, lava slowly rolling over the edge of their craters. On the southern half was an oddity. 88 upright pillars, each holding a different element, essential to the ordinary world. Finally, out of the pools of lava, he drew bodies, humanoid in shape, and to each body he gave life, and a single gram of one element.

Ashara, scale-bearer

It is time. Though this world is not yet complete, and is yet half unformed, the hours race on and all things quicken.

With this she departed the heavens and too walked across the face of the world. The great plains of metal she found not to her taste, being strange and alien to her way of thinking. The desert and its hidden life pleased her, yet Tyreng's wolf soon caught the scent of power and raced at her; she vanished and departed, not wishing for conflict. The mighty mountains cooled her, and she could see great potential for delving and the making of secrets, yet little in the way of life hunted the passes or soared above their heights.

At last she came to the forests, now towering and old and great in their shadow, with life dancing along their boughs and burrowing beneath their gnarled roots.

Here, she spoke.

Finding the greatest tree in the forest she sat and sang to it, of passions and secrets and the quickening of the heart. As she did so it too quickened into greater life, and greater still, as she poured more of herself into it to mingle with that life sprung of earth. The elder tree deepened in shadow, and a great crack like thunder was heard, and a great cry as if of pain.

From the tree stepped forth a figure, humanoid, graceful, and with skin as dark as ash.

Here you stand, young and yet ancient, child of my heart and my song. I name you Aedevui, and from you will spring multitudes. Go, now.

And thus she departed the world, and so Aedevui walked among the trees alone. Being lonely she sang, and the trees stirred and cracked, and from them sprang the race of dark elves, each being alike in hue to the tree from which they sprang. The forest was now alive with talk, and with glimmering light, and with song.

Come now, Mithranis, come Vashrei, see what I have wrought. Life that builds and grows and deepens the world. Are you not pleased?

Fearing for the future of her new children, she put forth the remainder of her power, causing new forest to grow. The forest around the elder tree she hallowed, causing the trees to grow huge and the beasts to grow strange and wonderous.

Her power near-exhausted, she retreated from the world.

After exhausting his energy on the first forest, Vashrei chose to watch silently from his den. He obsered the man changes and greatly approced of the spreading of the forests.

"These woods are strong and will be home to many creatures. But they are surrounded by so much barren land. I shall change that."

Breathing upon the lands surrounding the forests, the barrens sprouted with grasses and filled with all manner of herd animals and stalking predators. The forest was now surrounded to the South and East by grasslands.

Tyreng; The Devil-King

"A cage for my wolf, or a nest for my new brood? Thank you for the encouragement, while I'm at it I'll improve your mountains."

A flick of the wrist and the land was scared, the worlds life blood seeping out of the cracks and craters he had hewn. The creation of a range of volcanos and a barren lava-scape was the legacy of his work, next came his wolves work. Through a cave in the side of a freshly created volcano he found a great pool of magma, and hefting up a boulder and speaking words that didn't exist until that moment he launched it into the vast pool.

Born from the lake of molten rock a beast that would become known as a dragon emerged from the magma, and responded back to the wolf's hello a moment earlier; four more dragons each repeated this process. The first 5 great red dragons were born, born to rule that is. They desired power, and not only might but power over other beings. "What perfect children"; Tyreng Mused.

Mithranis, Lord of Battles

I shall extend your mountains and make one into the home of my firstborn, brother Athkim, announced the battle-god before he began to shape more metal-laden mountains. Satisfied with the highlands, he caused the lands about them to become fruitful. At last the land lie in readiness, now mithranis reached into the hearts of the mountains and formed a giant of a man with gleaming skin and mighty thews. He named this creature Vatyr and breathed into him life, but Vatyr was lonely and so Mythranis told his firstborn to fashion others like himself. Vatyr was unable to work metal into life as Mythranis had done, instead he worked with stone and from his work the stonekin came into the world.

Ashara, Scale-Bearer

Ashara watched the shiftings of the world with fascination. In truth, Tyreng's creation pleased her no less than Mithranis', for both would work to fill the world with richness of work and deed. Still, the coming of the dragons troubled her on behalf of her children. Already, she felt involved in their fate, for she had invested something of herself in them.

Aedevui, eldest of elves, called her people together from the woods throughout which they wandered. Come, children. I have thought long and communed with our mother. The world is young, and full of wonder, but yet there are hazards and chance in the world, and more such will come unlooked-for. So here we will build a city, a great gathering of people living through and around the trees, so that we might take counsel together and act in times of trouble.

Yet some of you wish to wander still, and that is a thing that may never be prevented. If you wish to glance to new horizons, go now to the north and the east, for our goddess has prepared something for you.

So the children of the forest worked long and hard, and built a great city in and among the great trees of that region, clustering around the bole of the Eldest of Trees. A great many went forth to the north and the east, and saw a great form of mist walking before them: such was Ashara. When they reached the sea it parted for them, and along their path sprung up many islands, some small, some great. A few wandered from the path and remained on these new islands, already blooming with life. Those who stayed to the path came to new land in the North-East; here the figure of mist spread her hands wide, and vanished, and here they took counsel and built a second city, Alfosse.

And so the Elves were the first race to be sundered. Yet Alfosse was not a city like Sylfaen: Alfosse was on an island by the course of the sea, and over the years the elves learned to build many long canoes to communicate with their cousins on the islands and far in Slyfaen, though the canoes were crudely made and, though the seas were calm in those days, every so often one was lost, to great sadness.

Ashara looked forth and saw her children widely spread against disaster, and was content.

Ashara looked on the world and was content. Her children grew in number and roved through the forests of the world, yet hesitated before stepping beyond their bounds.

A few encountered goliaths while travelling East of Alfosse, and watched them from the eaves of the forest, fascinated. An elven couple saw a pair of red dragons sweeping low over the far south of the woods; their wonder-struck tale spread north to Sylfaen, causing amazement, disbelief, and a nagging concern.

Ashara stretched forth her hand. Lest I forget that the world is for more than my children, let there grow a great and strange trees in the south, that thrive in the heat. Perhaps it will prove a nest for new folk in ages yet to come.

Ashara, Scale-Bearer (Turn 7)

And the world was quiet, and bore fruit. Ashara turned her mind fully to the emptiness of the world. Her eyes turned to the north, and she sculpted the lands north and east of Mountainhome into a series of great hills, misty fells, wide dales and deep dells filled with many mysteries. In the far east of that land she caused the weather to turn cold, so that a great mass of ice built up. And in all places across that land she caused creatures to spring forth in abundance, from the strange furred beings on the ice to the foxes, deer and great soaring eagles of the hills.

While she worked her people were not idle. Despairing of the loss of their folk to storms, the folk of Alfosse worked great trees into rough boats, and at last, over many years, into tall ships with sails of gold and white.

Aeduvi, protectress of Sylfaen, called on her people to build a great academy there among the trees, where knowledge could be gathered and shared. The people of Sylfaen sang long songs full of lore, as writing had yet to be.

His own contributions being only some forests and grasslands, as he feels little need to make anything else. He looks at the grass lands and yawns, large storms flooding them. The southern region of grasslands floods for some time. The lands become swamps, and Vashrei fills them with life that slithers and crawls on its belly. He prepares the area, deciding this is where his poeple will soon rise up.
