Heya. I'm making a cleric for an Evil campaign. It's an antropomorphic toad. So. What perverse deity does one worship as a plotting, scheming, monstrous amphibian with 5' movement and enough Crazy to take the Mothercyst feat?

Wastri the Hopping Prophet (http://www.canonfire.com/wiki/index.php?title=Wastri) maybe?

My immediate instinct is to say Blibdoolpoolp.

+ Tsathoggua, the Sleeper of N'kai, a toad/sloth-like Great Old One from the Cthulhu Mythos.

+ Laogzed, the Lizard-Toad, god of troglodytes. A general amphibian deity, Laogzed is only concerned with consuming more and more food.

+ Demogorgon, the Prince of Demons. Hard to go wrong with the good ol' Sybilant Beast.

THIS. The Watery Death Domain (Underdark) isn't too bad either, actually.

Wastri is a very good pick for amphibians, but he's violently anti-human, and per the LG Deities 2.0 document, cannot be chosen by PCs.

However, whoever wrote the entry for the Frog God's Fane in Complete Scoundrel either wasn't aware of this, or decided to reform Wastri, as page 146 says he "directs his followers to further the needs of humans and amphibians."

[Edit] Whoops, you're right. Violently pro-human. I must've got Wastri mixed up with someone else.

Another excellent choice... but still way too hard to spell, even after 30+ years.

Grippli (Dragon #324) also worship a "nameless goddess", a rainbow-colored frog, which is apparently an aspect of Blibdoolpoolp.

What? Wastri is violently pro-human, even according to LG. He's a human-supremacist toad-man, which makes him the funniest god ever. And I can see why that would be bad for LG characters, but for an evil anthropomorphic toad, he'd be a great choice.

Wastri sounds quite good. I was hoping for a little more compatibility with necromancy, though, since I'd like to take Mother Cyst for those late evening conversations with captive paladins. There is always Kyuss, I guess, but he seems a little too far in that direction. Hm. I might just take Wastri or Blibdoolpoolp and tone down the necromancy, but I was kinda hoping for a pet Skulking Cyst or two.

+1 for The Hopping Prophet! Greatest mixed bag portfolio ever - human supremacy...and frogs! :smalltongue:

He is one of the better gods for MWP from the War domain - not many give a reach weapon. I always wanted to make a Favored Soul of Wastri, and concentrate up pumping up Leap Attack!

How has nobody suggested the Hypnotoad? (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zHU2RlSCdxU&feature=related)

Thanks for your input, guys. In the end I went with Ramenos (who I found when researching Wastri), the Great hungry sleeping drunken frog from the Abyss! Once great, now reduced to sleeping with his mouth open, waiting for demons to push sacrifices into his mouth.

Right. Well, I now have my deity. But I am reminded that I still have a 5' movement speed. Also, traits are not allowed.

...Help. As much as I don't mind roleplaying a frog who takes forever to get anywhere, movement speeds are going to become an issue.

Pathfinder has Calistria (http://www.pathfinderwiki.com/wiki/Calistria) and the Demon Lord Lord Gogunta (http://www.pathfinderwiki.com/wiki/Gogunta).

"Why Calistria?" you ask. Well, look at one of her servants:

Threv
This frog-like shapechanging sorcerer is obsessed with vengeance, and prefers gifts of poison or ranged magic to allow him to carry out vindictive murder.

The easiest solution is probably to get a mount. Otherwise, the Dash feat improves your base speed by 5ft (though you can't use heavy armor with it), and Boots of Striding and Springing increase it by 10ft. Together, these'll make you as fast as a normal Small character.

Its threads like this that make me love this Forum... Really...

I swear if I started walking around with Banjo the Puppet God people would assume that I'm a Cardinal in the Cult of Banjo :smallamused:

I digress... You could always worship Thor, we all know he's familiar with Frogs

Actually, what Size is an anthropomorphic Toad?

My old Halfling Evoker never left home without his riding dog.

Anthro-toads are small, so you could ride a Dire Toad (30 foot speed).
