Is there any way for a vampire(or other sunlight vulnerable undead) to protect themselves from immolating in the sunlight? I have a vampire bard and I need her to be at least semi-functional during daylight hours. I tried looking through a couple of books but I haven't found anything that protects them from it.

Have your party Cleric cast Deeper Darkness (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/deeperDarkness.htm) (for the duration) on something you bring with you?

Bring along a nice, thick, heavy, stone sarcophagus on a wagon. Of course, you have to get out sometimes (or the game would be terribly boring), but having a safe-ish haven around is probably not going to hurt your chances.
You might even be able to (craft contingent?) teleport/dimension door into it when things get too bright.

And get one of these:

A big one.

There's an item in Ravenloft, I think it's called a "Dayheart". Shields vampires from the Sun!

Their are goggles that allow a vampire to take a full-round action before disintegrating, instead of a move action, so if you had a high enough move speed you could run/double move from dark spot to dark spot. Or just have a custom item of continuous Ebon Eyes and Deeper Darkness.

There's a chemical in Libris Mortis called Liquid Night that you can slather on for protection. It's an expensive solution though - each dose costs 150 gp and only lasts for an hour.

There's a spell in either Lords of Darkness or Champions of Ruin that allows the user to walk in sunlight as if it didn't affect them. You could easily turn that into a daylight ring with a permanent application of it to a magic item.

But in all seriousness its a funny combo for any Vampire :smalltongue:

I can't remember the item plague is talking about though :smallconfused:
I remember my friend using that item in a campaign once and doing the Liquid Night combo every hour, He just needed me to have an entire factory of Vampire Spawn with enough Craft (Alchemy) To be able to make it... I love undead Campaigns... So much

a Ring of Night's Mantle... interesting... I'd like you believe you just discovered a new way to arm an army of Vampires but I'm scared to think up the possibilities...

The endurance disipline lets you make quick trots in the sun at higher levels... Wait wrong system.

Erm, if a Vampire casts Alter Self/Polymorph/Shapechange can they ignore sunlight? Alter Selfing yourself into a human for example.
