I checked the Arcane Disciple (cleric variant) and compared it to the main class cleric and a other variant (cloistred cleric) and honestly, I think the Arcande Disciple concept is neat but it lack something...

I decide to make a few change while keepintg the flavor, tell me if its balanced:

1- Replaced the bonus feat gained at lev. 1 and gived the class feature "Lore", like the cloistered cleric.

2- Removed the proficiency with medium armor.

3- Give him the spell domain Magic instead of only the spells of that domain.

=====================

So what do you think? with a generous DM, I would ask for still able to spontanously cast "cure" or "inflict" spells but thats not as flavored as what I wroted above.

And remember, "Arcane to Divine" give spell one level lower then the maximum level of spell you can cast. Which mean its kinda like choosing the spell given to the character in the cost of having no lev.9 spell given. Its balanced I think...

Heres a look of the Arcane Disciple variant, published by D&D:

I don't know what specialist or evangelist clerics are, so I don't really have any clue what I'm supposed to be getting out of this.

If "specialist" and "arcane disciple" signify the same thing:
This has some weird bugs, like being able to cast Irresistible Dance before either the Bard or Wizard, but it looks approximately balanced with other prepared full spellcasters (which is different than being balanced with the rest of the game).

I'm not even going to hazard a guess about what an evangelist is.

It also mean the original version of the Arcane disciple made by D&D compagny is also able to do that so its all good.

Im even think that even if I had in my homebrew version the cleric would be able to still cast "cure" or inflict" spell spontaneously, it wouldnt be overpowered. I would like second opinion about it though...

Thanks for giving me your opinion about it! :)

Hmm... by default, you trade down your HD and give up spontaneous healing and domains in exchange for more skills and 20 wizard spells on the cleric list?

The magic domain power doesn't give you all that much more power, while losing medium armor proficiancy loses you mithral plate... I'd say you're good, yeah. You can always take the spontaneous healer feat from complete divine if your DM won't let you do the usual cleric swap.
