Maybe this is a dumb question, but which kind of damage does the Unarmed strike (Slashing, piercing, bugledoing)??

Bugledoing. Make sure to take ranks in perform (bugle) to maximize effectiveness.

"Hilarity" aside, unarmed strikes do bludgeoning damage. If you want to be able to do other types of damage without resorting to a kama or siangham, there's the Versatile Unarmed Strike feat (PHBII), which lets you do piercing or slashing damage with your unarmed strike.

There is a feat that allows one to do piercing or slashing instead of bludgeoning, but requires one to designate which type one is going to be doing and the unarmed strike does that kind of damage until one spend actions to change it.

Versatile Unarmed Strike from PHB II, IIRC. (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/ex/20060501a&page=4)

And if you want to be able to deal unarmed strike damage with a manufactured weapon so you can get nifty magic weapon properties without using a necklace of natural attacks (savage species; web (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/fc/20060707a)), there is the scorpion kama. I think it's from the Magic Item Compendium, but cannot recall exactly offhand.

2 levels in the 'Initiate of the Draconic Mysteries' (Dra) will also give you the option to flip between bludgeoning and slashing damage.

From all appearances, however, you don't need to spend any actions to change the damage type. Huh.

It's right there with all the other weapons. (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/equipment/weapons.htm#weaponDescriptions)
