I just ran across a link to OotS that I sent to a friend in March 2005... can hardly believe I've been following this comic for seven years already.

How long have you been following the comic?

How long have you been following the comic?

Nigh on seventy four years.

Or since 2005. One of the two.

I came into it at some point after comic #672 was posted, read through the whole thing and was waiting for #673 for about two weeks when I'd finished, so I must've run across it at some point in early August of 2009.

By the gods!

I've been reading since 2007 (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0506.html). That was... five years ago.

11:04 a.m. on August 13, 2010. Exactly one week before I went away for my freshmen year of college. Man, that was an awesome week before school started. Do I geta cookie for being way to much of a nerd to remember the exact time?

I only found the comic... Maybe a year ago? But I read the entire thing in two or three days and have avidly followed it ever since. :smalltongue:

So um, 2006

I got Dungeon Crawlin' Fools, Origin of PC's, Start of Darkness, War and XPs, and Don't Split the Party on the first run through. So a little longer than that.

I think I found this site through a guest comic posted on 8 Bit Theatre which I found hilarious. I decided to check this out based on the merits of that comic since I had never (and have still never) played D&D. I've played enough RPGs to get most of the jokes (though I've never played an RPG like Baldur's Gate or Neverwinter Nights that would probably help me out more) but I mostly check in each day for the story, the jokes are just a bonus.

I'm not sure what strip exactly I started reading with, but I do remember reading the comic on my parents computer with a couple of my gaming friends that I hung out with back in high school... and I graduated in 2004. So I guess I've been reading on and off since pretty close to the beginning.

4 years. 524 (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0524.html) was the first strip I had to wait for after the archive binge, that was in January 2008.

When I started reading they were still in the first dungeon. I don't even remember how long ago that was, but I'll go with whatever the forum join date beside this post says.

I'm a total noob. Thanks to my fellow tropers constantly providing OotS examples, I finally did a major archive binge about 6/7 months ago to look into this trope-overdosed stick webcomic-thingy. After taking a deep breath upon looking at the sheer mountain of binge involved, mind you...

Damn you, TV Tropes! <shakes fist skywards>

Been hooked since.

I think I came to the site just as Haley was getting her voice back, but the archive binge took a couple more strips. 396 might have been the first new strip I saw on the left. That and Erfworld 12.

Good place to start, I think.

775 was the first comic I had to stop at to wait for the next one...It's been a while....Not quite as long as the others though :)

2004 (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0035.html), apparently. (I remember, because the "wardrobe malfunction" reference in the next comic was all topical and whatnot at the time, given that 35 and 36 were released on either side of that very weekend.)

I've got a feeling it was comic 143 at the latest. Back then I would have still been on dial-up though, so it might have been earlier cause it would have taken a while to get through the archive. That particular scene just sticks out for me though.

#175 (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0175.html) - Seven years ago.

I believe that I had heard of the comic before, but never got around to actually reading it.

http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0216.html was the first strip I saw, but by that time it was maybe 10-20 strips old or so. Read the archives pretty quickly though.

2004, it seems (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0113.html)

Wow, I'd have been 13 or 14 when I started reading.

The archives are now over seven times larger than when I started reading, not counting bonus strips.

It was the second webcomic I read, and the first one stopped several years ago. The next oldest webcomic I still read is Dr. Mcninja, that I started reading in 2006.

It was somewhere around miko's fall, give or take a few strips so 2006 or 2007. I know it was my senior year of highschool because I had just began playing dnd. Unless I have my personal timeliness confused.

Right around #143, give or take a strip. (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0143.html)

So I can't quite call myself an OG, but call it Second Wave or so. :smallamused:

I think I started reading when they were with Miko in the inn, and I also remember buying Dungeon Crawlin' Fools and On the Origin of PCs when they first came out, which puts my first reading back in 2005...didn't join the forum immediately, though, not sure why!

Wow, appears I registered Jan 2007, so been reading since before that. Doesn't seem like 5+ years at all. For the life of me I can't remember how I found this comic, nor the exact strip I started on since I started with the archives. Been a great ride so far though :)

2004

I went back and looked at the strips but don't remember which one was the 'last' when I finished the archive. Somewhere after Elan running around naked and before the Linear Guild's first arc. So 8 years.

I lurked on the forums off and on for years, but only registered last year to make a comment. I skipped all the Miko era forums... but now with so many references to the insanity I wish I'd read them. Probably not unlike the current hand-wringing and moralizing about V casting Familicide. (Made hir evil, no still neutral, dragons are all evil, no they aren't, collateral damage, collateral damage is evil, not really, rinse, repeat, pause, rewind, replay...)

2005 I think. Around the time where Xykon is first "defeated".

I had read through everything on the left side, before I finally got my ass in gear and joined the forum two years ago. Now this is the website I spend the most of my time on.

For all you early starters, here's some perspective:
In 2005, Bush was sworn in for his second term of Presidency.
Hurricane Katrina hit the Gulf coast.
Hurricane Rita hit the Gulf coast.
London was hit by Islamic terrorist bombings.
Saddam Hussein was put on trial and executed the following year.
I had relations with your mom.

Hm I think I win (longest lurker award, only registered to get "unread messages" for Morghen's Hackmaster). Image of EP1 was reposted on one of the forums I frequent, I do believe it was our local gaming club forum, and when I visited the site, there was 3 strips up.

Since then, I've read every single strip, albeit 50 at a time when I didn't check back to the site for a while. I actually got a sinking feeling in my belly for strip 842. Poor V.

Eh, instead of V and Familicide, substitute in Miko's arrest and treatment of the Order, and you've got a pretty close approximation of what it was like.

I started reading around the middle of Darth!V's fight against Xykon, though I didn't sign onto the forums until that October. That was...huh, nearly two and a half years ago. And nearly two and a half weeks, in-comic. :smalltongue:

...A lot happened in that time.

Late 2003, so over eight years now.

Took me a few years to bother checking out the forums, though.

I started reading when #400 was the current strip, which would have been... either very late 2006 or very early 2007, if I recall correctly. I started reading at the recommendation of my then-girlfriend, who said that I reminded her of Elan. I'm still not sure if that was supposed to be a compliment or not.

The azure city story arc somewhere, I'm trying to remember which strip exactly. It was pretty early in the arc, I honestly don't remember what year that was.
