Imagine if Elan was right!

Cyclops AKA Scott Summers (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cyclops_(comics))

Joins The Order Of The Stick. Assuming he's a permanent member, how powerful would he be? And how effective would he be for the PC' to have in the party?

I don't get it.

He's a sorcerer specializing in Scorching Ray.

Not much else to him, and besides, as part of the S-Men

Xykon already killed Professor Xavier Xavion long enough ago that Cyclops would have died of old age.

I think it was a joke thread.

As for how effective he'd be, that depends on if his optic blasts are just scorching rays from his eyes (as in SoD) or if he could pull of all the stunts he could with them in the comics. (Not that the last one would save him from eating Energy Drain or Implosion.)

There was a non-continuity joke about a superhero in a Greek myth. Elan is right and said superhero joins the Order.

What is the train of thought here? The joke is just a joke. It's not meant to be taken serious.

I don't understand why people don't understand this...

Whatever, I believe Magneto would be more useful anyway.

I think what's confusing most people about this thread is that the guy should've prefaced it with "imagine if..."

As it stands it looks like he's saying "OH HEY GUYS LOOK: ELAN WAS RIGHT!"

Kay. I edited it.

ALL IS WELL!

Okay, well, he'd probably be pretty handy in a fight, but Xykon's not gonna stand for no eyebeams. So really it's just like having a caster who can only cast Scorching Ray.

I still don't get it, and don't wanna read Cyclops' biography. Is he trapped in a deserted island, like Elan said? Is he met with Odysseus?

No way! Use the Juggernaut! If he was around, he'd have killed all of Team Evil by now.

The comic-book Cyclops would deal force damage, not fire, though.

He also packed quite a punch and could one-shot mostl villains on a clean hit, at max strength.

I guess it'd be a ray attack so his effectivity depends on his BAB.

So it's more like eldritch blast than scorching ray, actually.

If he didn't turn 50 percent or glob of flesh and bones. (www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0826.html)

Cyclops is a tactician. The Order already has one, and he knows more about the physical laws of this world than Cyclops. So he would be pretty useless.
Besides, he's a power-hungry heartless freak, and I don't want to think about him.

Dunno, I stopped reading X-Men such a long time ago I don't have the slightest idea about his current characterization. The Cyclops I know is the Claremont version. The 70s-90s Claremont version, I mean. He was kinda cool.

Claremont's version was better, true.
