Similar to a recent thread on dipping, I briefly played a dip-heavy level 5 melee build designed to hit hard and fast to end the fight before his limited abilities ran out. He had 6 rounds of rage and used the 3 round option on his scabbard of vigor (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic-items/wondrous-items/wondrous-items/r-z/scabbard-of-vigor), hence the name. Thus he had a total of +3 to hit and damage above a vanilla fighter (+5 minus +2) and blew the attack bonus into power attack. He also got standard melee things. It went pretty well in the small party and almost every fight did end within 3-4 rounds of raging +3 weapon power attack.
I'm wondering what other tricks you can pull in Pathfinder or 3.5 to get a power boost for a brief period of time.
