9 level spell choice help

My friend is playing a anima Mage he is trying to decide between the mind rape spell or the unname spell he wants to use the irresistible metamagic and vestige metamagic ability what spell is stronger?

Your DM seriously let you have Irresistible Spell?

I'd take Mindrape, even if more creatures are immune to it. Unname is just a fancy way of killing someone (and making them hard to raise), Mindrape offers much more utility than that.

Irresistable Spell has been errata'd. It now adds +10 to the DC, instead of removing the saving throw altogether.

He's playing a high op game and they are not using the errata besides the big bad evil guy is vecna!

In a high-op game I'd stay away from Mind Affecting spells. Tell him to have a look at the feat Mother Cyst from Libris Mortis. Two failed saves/lack of saves can either permanently destroy the soul of any (living) creature or make them your permanent mind slave (Who can, however, have Break Enchantment used on them), without it being Mind Affecting.
