I remember there being a set of horseshoes somewhere, but i can't remember what they're called or what book they're in. All i remember is they were something about fire and granted flight and +10 intelligence to the horse they were equipped to.

Anybody able to help me find the item?

Savage species. Horseshoes of Flame or something.

Thanks, it's appreciated. I've got an Artificer, so just imagine what he gets out of that +10 intelligence and +6 charisma. After all, it's only UMD 20 to mimic a race :smalltongue:

And any sane dm would make you nail them to your feet and hands. so you'll never walk again and never be able to pick up anything.

Crazy glue a pair to your feet, and a pair to the BACK of your hand.

Problem solved.

Indeed .

alternately, make them yourself as bracers and anklets. he is an artificer, after all

Indeed. To be fair, I do think such an item should occupy both the gloves and the shoes slot.

At the very least, somewhere on the arms and the boot slot, yeah

They only grant that ability while the horse is in the form of a Nightmare not sure how helpful that would be to a playable character. I mean you'd get fiery hoof attacks and a fly speed but still you're a Nightmare :smallwink:

In other words, you look like something off an old school heavy metal album.
And this is a bad thing . . .why?:smallamused:

Maybe he thought crafting would be harder with hooves

Does polymorphing into a centuar count?

If not there must be some way to be a horse and still do normal things.

What's the LA on an anthropomorphic horse?

Tauric (Insert favorite base humanoid) nightmare. LA is base humanoid + 3. So cheesewise you could add a bunch of intelligence or charisma boosting templates to the nightmare for free.

Edit: Forgot that the horseshoes will only work on an "ordinary" horse... In that case substitute nightmare with any of the horses listed under equines in Champions of Valor (most correlate to light or heavy horses out of the MM, but will have stat increases, or other nifty features).

If you could pull off becoming a talking horse then that'd be close enough. Then you take still spell and while your spells are a level behind your save DCs are ridiculous.

Step 1: Craft horseshoes
Step 2: Put on horseshoes, become nightmare
Step 3: Alter Self into a human-like outsider (aasimar works), Disguise Self into your normal form
Step 4: ???
Step 5: PROFIT

Nightmares are outsiders. Since this is a polymorph effect, you become an outsider, which opens up all sorts of polymorph and alter self cheese

Nightmares are outsiders.

Fixed ^^

This level of cheese, and alter self as an outsider into an aasimar? Somewhat disappointed, we have all sorts of goodies for outsiders. If I remember correctly dwarven ancestor or something like that is a huge NA bonus.

The idea is just to look like yourself. But yeah, checking an alter self abuse thread is not hard.

A particular favorite outsider of mine for Alter Self cheese is the Advespa, a demon from MM 4. Bucketloads of natural offensive and defensive abilities, and arms so you can actually use spells or use equipment or something.

As per MIC, add the horseshoe special quality to your boots/anklets/whatever.

I added horseshoes of the zephyr and horseshoes of speed to my anklets of translocation and they work fine; I just need to make the UMD check 1/hour. This would work just as well, though it WOULD Polymorph you into a flaming My Little Nightmare.

Alternatively just double the price to make them slotless and don't worry about how to make the horseshoes fit, as long as you make the UMD check.
