I was watching FlyingPanda's (http://www.youtube.com/user/flyingpanda1990?ob=4&feature=results_main) videos on youtube (he's a stick figure animator, pretty talented actually) and I was checking out one of his tutorials (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TVcZ4AOKo3w&feature=related). What it consists of is him doing an animation, recording it and then playing it at a fast speed so others can see how he animates. That gave me an idea. How about the Giant does one, but of him drawing a comic strip?

Not a tutorial, obviously, but when he makes his next OotS he can use a program like camstudio (http://camstudio.org/) or debut (http://www.nchsoftware.com/capture/index.html) (I'm not an expert on that kind of thing, so if you know a better way to do it, shout it out) to record the making of the comic, and then play it a faster speed to cut down on time (the FAQ says it takes 2-3 hours to make a comic, so it have to be played quite fast and then broken into a few different videos).

Personally I would just be interested to see what type of work actually goes into one of the comics, but it would probably be helpful to other aspiring Adobe-Illustrator comic makers.

Has there already been a discussion of this? What kind of problems would there be? And what music would we put to the video?

Thoughts?

I think the biggest problem would be getting Rich to agree.

Money, time, and effort.

The big Arbey has his plate full and overflowing with the the extras from Kickstarter, plus a plethora I am sure of other projects which we have no clue about, including the next book.

I mean I think it would be awesome to do it, and I would watch it, but that's why I don't see it as a likely occurrence.

I'm not asking for Rich to do it now while he's busy with Kickstarter, but if he downloads a (free) program like Camstudio (he may even have a similar program already installed on his computer), it wouldn't be too hard to flick on the recorder while he's making the next comic... would it?

Eh, I don't know. It's up to Rich really, and if he's too bogged down with all the work at the moment, that's fine.

So you're making a suggestion of something he should do about two years from now? :P

 No, I'm just saying that if he feels too busy at the moment, then its ok if he doesn't do it.
