Has anyone ever thought to match some of the artists on this forum with the games being played on it? We have people making adventures and campaigns, and people asking for inspiration and purpose for their art, why not combine them?

It would be nice to have some art of the places, people, items, and events of a game. Does this sound interesting to any of you artists? I myself can draw, but only with pencils, and I just don't know how to color.

I think PBP threads are pretty hard for outsiders to read: they don't have the benefit of editing or structure that you get with a normal story. Reading through pages and pages of forum posts and extracting the narrative behind them is a long slog for someone with no prior engagement to the game.

I'm a PBP GM, though, and I do produce a lot of images for my games myself. I think that it's good to break up the walls of prose sometimes, and maps or sketches of memorable locations/NPCs help the players remember the key elements of the game.

And of course the DM is free to request various pictures from someone to illustrate his/her point in any given bit of narrative.

Absolutely - I have two (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v700/LordChilipepa/MazeburnsMaria-1.jpg) nifty (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v700/LordChilipepa/OctavianRhodes.jpg) drawings of NPCs from my games that I snagged from Mazeburn's request thread, a while back.
