I may be running curse of the crimson throne, and paizo has updated the sable company marine feat found in the player's guide to an archetype. The archetype can be found here (http://paizo.com/paizo/blog/v5748dyo5lbqy).
Basically, it replaces hunter's bond with the hippogriff, and the ranger never gets favored terrain. The ranger gets the hippogriff at level 4.
So the ranger is essentially giving up favored terrain for a hippogriff companion.
What would be an equivalent sacrifice for a druid or cavalier for them to get a hippogriff?
