Corner Gas is an amazing show, with witty lines, good characters, and all the general excitement of living in a small town in the middle of Saskatchewan surrounded by nothing but prairie and some farms as far as the eye can see. The thread title was a little hard for me to write, since I love Phineas and Ferb, but given the ingenuity they had to make jokes in the place this is set, I gotta say it deserves the #1 spot.

It ended back in 2006, ran for six seasons, and you can find the first five seasons on YouTube. If you want to buy the DVDs, amazon.ca has them for half the price of amazon.com.

It's rather obscure, so I posted this thread to give it some publicity!

I didn't watch it much, don't watch much TV, but I noticed it had a rather laid back kind of comedy that mostly developed around the quirky characters.
I wouldn't call it the best comedy show ever, but it had a good run.

Seinfeld. The Simpson's. Futurama. HIMYM (First four seasons were great). SCRUBS. All better than Corner Gas.

It's pretty much tied with Kids (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=krHu4E65khA) in (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P2jtu3hDhMU&feature=related) the (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aWEnqC1uPu0) Hall (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MjMYQyhjiYA) in my book for best Canadian comedy show ever. Not that it's bad, but lets just keep things in perspective.

The Simpson's.
Too snarky, as well as unrealistic physical gags. Corner Gas has the limits of the real world and a small town.

Futurama.
Never seen it except for half an episode or so.

HIMYM (First four seasons were great).
Never heard of it.

SCRUBS.

I love Corner Gas. It is probably my second favourite show behind Doctor Who. I once ran a JAGS Wonderland (http://www.jagsrpg.org/jags/content/Wonderland.pdf) game based on Corner Gas I love it so much.

Also, if you like Corner Gas, you should check out Hot in Cleveland. Similar sense of humour, although its a bit more crude and not quite as funny.
