...a Druid with the standard Animal Companion, Wildshape class feature replaced by Aspect of Nature (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/variant/classes/classFeatureVariants.htm#wildShapeVariantAspectOfN ature) ACF and the Gleaner (http://www.giantitp.com/articles/gk7uKJeF296jRcx1NJw.html)'s spellcasting (both in terms of spell list and spell progression)? Would it be viable for a [EDIT: Tier 3] game?

Tier 3 is basically a mystic wild shape ranger it is vialble for a game

I'd estimate around 4. It's hard to completely suck if you have spells at all, but the Gleaner list is trimmed of most of the really good Druid options (no Entangle, Produce Flame, Summon Nature's Ally..) and Aspect of Nature is absolutely worse than Wildshape.

It was brought up in another thread but one of the reasons Wildshape ranger is so good is full BAB.

Still not enough to bump it above 3, though, since there are usually better ways to deal with problems than by hitting them.

Mostly it's that the full BAB and better skills make ranger a more solid base for entering Master of Many Forms or doing creative, non-casty things with their wildshaping without MOMF.
