Hi. I was wondering if anyone have worked with the Weapons of Legacy book, and if there are any guides and such related to it.

I have lately been backward-engineering the prices of a lot of the abilities there (both those in the lists, and those on the items within) to find out the approx average value of each tier, with the intention of making a much broader system that people can use more generally.

If this is interesting to others, i could make a thread for it, but I wanted to ask if there are already resourcethreads for that book and system.

The main thing to do is eliminate any sort of penalty whatsoever for taking the items, the need to take a feat, do a ritual, etc. etc.

Just have the bonuses grow with level, and give it to the characters for free. Also, never use the default weapons, even with penalties removed; customize a weapon toward the build of the character.

Here (http://community.wizards.com/go/thread/view/75882/19858386/Building_a_weapon_of_legacy,_for_dummies.) are some tips for building your own (which you should always do or have the players do), since otherwise the ones from the book itself kind of... suck.

And Here (http://community.wizards.com/go/thread/view/75882/19862762/Weapons_of_Legacy_Ability_List_%28who_knew_there_w ere_so_many%29) is a full list of all the possible abilities, including the base lists as well as the abilities as slotted on the pre-written ones.

But yeah. When you make your own, you end up with some pretty nice stuff, as buying a weapon of equivalent value (with all the special abilities, enhancement bonuses, and whatnot) would cost waaaay more than the total combined cost of the rituals. Toss in item familiars and it gets crazier.
