The Martial Artist is an Archetype for the Monk that trades a lack of Ki for the ability to ignore the lawful restriction of Monks, to ignore DR/hardness, and a slew of different immunities.

However, the Archetype does not specifically replace Abundant Step with anything. The Martial Artist still has the Abundant Step ability, just not the Ki to use it.

Given the Human's Favored Class Bonus for Monks - 1/4th of a Ki point per level - and the Monk Vows, which also give Ki, could a Martial Artist gain the Ki to use the +20 bonus to Acrobatics of High Jump, or use Abundant Step? He would not have a Ki Pool per say, meaning he could not use his Ki to treat his unarmed attacks as magic or to gain Flurry attacks, but he would still have Ki Points, allowing him to use Ki for things not specifically related to the Ki Pool class feature.

By RAW, the Human FCB probably won't work until the monk gets a Ki pool from some other source, since it says it adds 1/4 to the Ki pool, which doesn't exist, not that it creates a ki pool. Taking a dip in some other class that gives a ki pool and then using the FCB to increase it would work.

The author of the archetype stated in a post on the paizo boards that not removing abundant step was an oversight. He recommended that it be replaced by a second +1 increase to the abilities listed in the martial artist pain points class feature or that the monk gain another monk bonus feat.
