Pain Mastery Feat

My character has damage reduction. If i take the feat PAIN MASTERY (savage species pg. 37) does the damage that gets reduced count toward the damage 50 damage i need to get the bonus?

e.g. {the fighter beats my ac and his damage roll= 6 but i have DR 8/-.}

even though the damage is reduced does it still count as damage taken?

No. Whatever damage that damage reduction blocks, you do not take. So it doesn't count as damage taken.

thank you wanted to know if it was worth to take the feat or not but there not gonna be dealing enough damage for me to properly utilize it.
