My group is playing a new campaign in two weeks, and I had a particular idea in mind for a character. She's going to be a bit of an overzealous cleric of some god she never elaborates on, and I'd like some lines I could throw out every once in a while for her. Here are some examples of the kind of thing she'd say, and about the length I'd like.

"Unworthy of consecration."

"They say only the good die young. Obviously, you are one of the exceptions."

"We see clearly the error of your ways. It does not matter that you choose not to."

"Fall to your knees and welcome our embrace."

"It will take more than steel alone to purge this world of evil."

"Your superstitions and mumblings are useless chaff before my righteousness."

"Skin is the prison of the blessed and the stronghold of the heretic."

“In life, they were a motley crew: farmers, lords, cutpurses, priests. In death, they are united in singular, benevolent purpose.”

"Scholars seek to understand the way the world is. I wish to shape the world into what it should be."

"No one chooses to be stitched together into a *Insert creature here*. If it could speak, it would beg for its own destruction."

"As long as we can utter a prayer or lift a weapon, we have the power to fight back."

“The shield of unimpeachable purity is as strong as any wrought on the anvil.”

"The time for grief is over. The time for retribution has begun."

"To show geists pity is to prolong their agonies. Whether they know it or not, they seek the Blessed Sleep, and we are to give it to them."

I'd like most of her dialogue to be about how she wants there to be Unification.

And no, "Resistance if futile, you will be assimilated" Or anything like that is not acceptable. :smalltongue:

For hardcore cleric lines, you would be well-served by exploring famous quotes from the Warhammer universes (fantasy (http://whfb.lexicanum.com/wiki/Quotes) and 40k (http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Category:Quotes#.T3efIjE3SSo)), especially lines from the (http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Quotes_Space_Marines#.T3efNDE3SSo) Imperium (http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Inquisition_Quotes#.T3efKzE3SSo) of (http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Adepta_Sororitas_Quotes#.T3efCjE3SSo) Mankind (http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Ecclesiarchy_Quotes#.T3ee5jE3SSo), though the other factions' quotes often also work. I once ran a fanatical Cleric/Church Inquisitor, and here are some of the lines I used for him, adapted to your theme:

“Things are very seldom what they seem. In my experience, they’re usually a good sight worse.”

“This place is infected by evil's taint, friend... And where such infection lies, I have all the authority I need.”

“Nobody expects the [insert her god's name] inquisition! Well, some do, actually- we have a reputation to maintain, after all. I’d hate to disappoint…” [grins menacingly]

“Corruption is devious, subtle... the way of shadows.”

“For the faithful it is never too late. If our foe has escaped tonight, then what of tomorrow? Or next week or next year? I am patient, and there is no escaping me.”

“What did you say? Speak up- the wicked don’t mumble when they speak to me.”

“I am the law, and the law is not mocked!”

“[her god's name]'s purity ignites my soul, and his righteous anger burns through my body. One way or another, you’ll receive a fire from me.”

“Evil and division exist in all corners of the land, and I shall oppose them everywhere.”

“I am the law, and the law is not mocked!”

To pull the rest of them from that source:

"He knows his way in the dark, Mine is the way of the Lord."
"Those who follows the path of the rightous shall have their reward, and if they fall as Lucifer fell, they fall in flames"
"And so it must be, for so it is written, on the Doorway to Paradise, that those who falter and they who fall, shall pay the price"

Javert is much more of a palidin than a cleric, though.

I suspect your playing someone to noble/bright for the following:
"You can only fight the darkness from the shadows"

You caught me, I confess! In my younger days (when I was a theater kid), I was typecast as "man in a uniform", so Javert has always been near and dear to me. I agree that he makes for a Miko-equse paladin more than a cleric, but he can be adapted as any fanatic of a cause, especially if that cause is the law.

Judge Dredd is a close second.

*Nothing is more dangerous than a well intentioned fool

*Hope is the first step on the road to disapointment

*Purge the heretics first, second, and later, who said anything about asking questions?

*Ye have been weighed, measured, and found wanting

*mine armor is contempt

*I am holy, you on the other hand, will soon be full of holes

*The oath of mine order, "If I advance, follow me. If I die, avenge me. If I retreat, shoot me."

*They'll have to glue you back together, In Hell!

*Duty is as heavy as a mountain, while death is light as a feather.

*The book of armaments chapter 47... (I don't need to finish this one, we all know where its going, and dmgs are going to be chucked at my head for it)

A classic one:

Kill them all and let God sort them out. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arnold_Amalricus)
