Ok, so I'm trying to figure out the cost of an item that allows me to use Alter Self once per day, but with a continuous duration. I.e. a duration that does not end.

Looking at the table, here (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic-items#TOC-Magic-Item-Gold-Piece-Values) Would it be

[2000 * 3 (caster level) * 2 (spell level) * 2 (because the spell is in minutes per level)] / 5 (because I am making it only 1 charge per day)

for a total of 4800 to buy, or 2400 gold to create?

If it matters, I am using the spell to make my good, charismatic, people-person tiefling PC look like a human in an area where tieflings are seen as shameful at best, evil monsters to be killed at worst. I am interseted in using Alter Self rather than a Hat of Disguise because of the pesky will save that Hat of Disguise has (as it emulates Disguise Self).

Alas using the "comparable item" rule we have

Robe of Blending (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic-items/wondrous-items/wondrous-items/r-z/robe-of-blending)

which is alter self for 1hr, and costs 4200.

So a continuous version should be more expensive than that.

make it a ring, use the same price as a ring of invisibility. Easy math.

This. Both are 2nd level spells. In theory, Alter Self would even be a LITTLE cheaper, since it already has a longer duration than Invisibility (10 Min/Level, though might be different in PF).

It cost higher only because it also duplicate the effect of a tongue spell.
And it is CL10, while you only need CL3 for Alter Self.

The calculation of Laniius was correct.

The ring of invisibility is continuous effect, not 1/day.
Hence the much higher price.

You already mentioned the Hat of Disguise, but there is also a Hat of Disguise, Greater (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic-items/wondrous-items/wondrous-items/h-l/hat-of-disguise-greater)
It work's like a hat of disguise but with a Alter Self, so it's polymorph instead of illusion.
Does cost 12,000gp though.
