The Dead Linger is an open-world sandbox zombie survival simulator. I found out about it a few days ago, and it seems really awesome. The Alpha will (hopefully) be out before the end of May. The game is also being funded on Kickstarter.
This thread is for *coughduhcough* discussion of the game.

They certainly talk big, but the lack of any proof of concept is a bit alarming. Sure, the music is nice and the art seems serviceable, but I'm going to hold my horses until I see some gameplay.

Besides, I'm all full of survival gameplay at the moment anyway. Lone Survivor, Project Zomboid and Neo Scavenger are all very different, but immensely enjoyable survival games and have appropriately devoured much of my free time as-is.

But we shall see. Honestly the scope of this project sounds a bit too Molyneux to be true, but I hope it'll be a fun game nonetheless.

I'm on the team developing the game. It's still a bit early in development, but I'd be happy to answer questions about it.

You can find the Kickstarter project here: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/sandswept/the-dead-linger

Cool! I have a few questions:

How is player Health handled?
Will there be volcanoes?
How many special Omnitopia strips for the game will I have to make to get a free copy ?

I can't give too many details, but you will have to worry about wounds, starvation, and zombie infection (each is a separate mechanic). Healing will be slow enough that you can't rely on it in the middle of a fight, but not permanent enough to be unfair.

Sadly, Kickstarter does not accept comics for pledges. :smallfrown: We'll appreciate it if you spread the word though.

Now that I think of it, I saw a stick figure comic for our game. Was that yours?

Yep. I made two promo comics for people to copy and paste in the Help us! Fund TDL on Kickstarter! thread. I'm even hosting a special Omnitopia chapter in the Survivor Creations section.

Keep an eye on our Kickstarter page, we have plans to show you guys something neat soon.

Sorry for the delay. Here, watch this tech demo video:

All of the terrain and buildings you see are procedurally generated. If you look closely you can see some zombies.

Only 6 days to go on the Kickstarter! We've added more rewards too.

Well, we have 70 hours to go and we've just about doubled our original funding goal. Thanks for everybody's support so far.

Too bad I couldn't donate in time for the Kickstarter, and don't have a Paypal account :smallsigh:.

Also, I heard the interview with Dana last night. This game is really going to be awesome when it comes out.
