So, a new series from Geek and Sundry has started on Youtube called Table Top. What does it involve? Various celebrities in much that pertains to geekdom gathering around a table and playing games. Hosted by Wil Wheton.

Episode 1: Small World can be found using this finely crafted link (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X9QtdiRJYro) with Sean Plott (Day9), Grant Imahara (From Mythbusters) and Jenna Busch (Writer and Blogger).

Looks pretty well done from what I can see. They've put a lot of effort in to production.

I watched the first episode and enjoyed it very much. I can see this becoming a regular part of my web activities. :)

I like it hope they can cover a lot of games that I like and some games I haven't decided if I want to buy or not.

I enjoyed how they not only play, but also explain the rules a fair bit. It made me more eager to play small world.

Grant Imahara (From Mythbusters)

SOLD.

Now, to watch the first episode...

*ten seconds in*

Hey, it's Will Wheaton!

*hears about Small World*

Hm... I'll have to look into that some time.

Hey, it's Will Wheaton!

We should make him into DnD's Chuck Noris

Will Wheaton is so skilled that when he plays Advanced Dungeons and Dragons, his characters start at level 20 :smallamused:

Even the Omnificer can't comprehend Will Wheaton

Pun Pun calls the process of his ascension "Whill Wheatoning"

Sorry, O-Chul's already nabbed that position.

Although you could say he's more OotS's Chuck Norris.

I just know Will since I've seen a dozen or so episodes of The Big Bang Theory. But he's a famous celebrity, and he likes gaming.

*adds to list of celebrities to someday gather up for a game, which currently consists of Will Wheaton and Van Diesel*

*needs to find more celebrities that play games*

Robin Williams plays Warhammer (can't remember if it's 40k or Fantasy. It could be both), or at least buys and paints the figs.

Hm... maybe.

*adds Grant to the list*

*considers Adam Savage*

I would like to see how many crazy rigs he could come up with in a zombie apocalypse game. Of course, it's only expected that we'd have to cut the sessions short so he could test them.

He's most famous, I think, for playing Ensign "Shut up Wesley (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CX8NsJn_KpM)" Crusher in Star Trek: The Next Generation.

That, and when he plays himself in the Big Bang Theory. Watching the Big Bang Theory is also how I know he was on Star Trek.

I watched the first episode of this and it was very entertaining. It's almost like the shared group experience of watching sports, in that you get a sense of intimacy with the players and feel a part of the group, even though you're not. I intend to keep watching.

Other than that, they messed up on at least two of the rules of Small World which really bugged me. But that's probably just me.

Haven't seen it. Can't now. Heading out the door. But I expect it to be good. Now if only we could get Level Up off the air.
