I've been researching this and all the methods I read don't work, I tried:

Toothpaste, pine sol, soap and water, bleach and ammonia. I attempted acetone, but just a tad bit and even that, I think was warping the small bit I tried it on.

I want to repaint some of the d&d minis I have slightly different, but the acrylic paint I have won't go on correctly to the base paint schemes.

Any thoughts?

just realize I posted this in the wrong place , it won't let me delete it.

That's weird, I've never had Pine Sol soak followed by toothbrush scrub fail. Maybe try a single coat of primer on top of your current paint?

Brake fluid is another method; although it's not very eco friendly.
Here is a link describing the procedure.
