[PF] Half-Dragons - Build and Potential?

I've been looking into the pathfinder rules recently, and I'd rather like to get the opinions on the new version of the half-dragon template. in 3.5, it was gimped - +3 LA for what it gave, which was considered by all to be too much.

I'm also looking for interesting and flavorful build ideas using a Half-Dragon human, which is what I'd be playing the character as.

Wow not bad the only minus is no more energy immunity which was really just for those who wanted to abuse the template rather than just get a bunch of pluses. I think you could easily slap this on almost any fighter type build, even a gish, and have a blast.
Oh and are you playing 3.P or just PF?
Personally I'd go with a Barbarian or a Gish type. Frenzied Berserker with ~34 Str, or more, please.

Well, you were wrong on one point, but that doesn't really matter, since I wasn't planning on abusing that anyways :smalltongue:

Hmm... doesn't pathfinder use CR as the level adjustment? That makes this a LA +2 Template, by itself better than the previous edition. No breath weapon for a human, but that was a pointless part of the template in 3.5 as well. Also, wings! more Constitution! Definitely a warrior type, though it could be impressively flavorful to have a magus, I suppose

Seriously though I'd play this class in a 3.5 game with the PF template:

32 Point Buy:
STR: 18 DEX: 14 CON: 14 INT: 10 WIS: 10 CHA: 8
Half Black Dragon Human
LA 2
Barb 1: Extra Rage, Intimidating Rage
Barb 2:
Human Paragon 1: Destructive Rage
HumanPara2: *Bonus Feat*
HumanPara3: +2 STR
Fighter 1: Power Attack
Fighter 2: Cleave
Frenzied Berserker 1

When you rage and frenzy you have:
18 + 2(Paragon) + 8 (H-Dragon) + 2 (levels) + 4(Rage) + 6(Frnz) = 40 STR naked.
That is crazy @ Level 10?

Sorry I know this isn't PF but you could probably find something similar.

Don't forget that although the pathfinder +CR thing is basically equivalent to LA, there's one big difference. Monsters as PCs (http://paizo.com/pathfinderRPG/prd/monsters/monstersAsPCs.html) says that every 3 levels or so you get a bonus level to catch up. It's like LA buyoff but better!

Sorry I know this isn't PF but you could probably find something similar.Probably, yeah. Makes barbarian a very attractive class to get into, especially since they've gotten a few buffs since 3.5, as far as I recall.
