For my character's backstory, there are four factions inside of a group created to balance the land they reside in, called the Suited Blades. The four factions are:
1. The Burning Heart Brigade: The Chaotic Evil faction, focuses on fire and firepower. Preferably glass cannons of a type.
2. The Knights of the Diamond Frost: The Chaotic Good faction, focuses on cold, stealth, and diplomacy. My Druid is part of this faction.
3. The Spades of Steel Wind: Lawful Good, focused on hit and run tactics, as well as air.
4. The Earthquake Clubs: Lawful Evil, focused on tanks and slow, steady oppression combat.

I'm trying to come up with classes for the Captains of each faction, as well as the leader of the entire group. The cap would be 15 for the Captains, and 20 for the ringleader. This is mostly for RPing purposes, but the DM may be impressed at any rate, which may mean bonus XP.

All of these can be done with pure ToB and possibly some Homebrew Disciplines.

If you want something else there's Admiral Squish and his Barbarian Totem project for a dip.

If you want something else else:

Burning Heart: Warmage or Barbarian/Frenzied Berzerker with Shock-Trooper who drops his AC through the floor.

Diamond Frost: Rogue Diplomancer/Factotum quite likely.

Steel Wind: Scout build or get into Swiftblade

Earthquake: You know the Knockdown Feat? Get it. Sheeky's Intimidation Lockdown (CWar Samurai) would be good too.

Chaotic Evil/Fire: Anything with a Pyrokineticist (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/psionic/prestigeClasses/pyrokineticist.htm) dip for the captains, and use Power Attack with the fire lash. I'd probably go Wolf-Totem Barbarian (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/variant/classes/variantCharacterClasses.htm#wolfTotemClassFeatures ) 2/ Psychic Warrior with Whirling Frenzy (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/variant/classes/classFeatureVariants.htm#rageVariantWhirlingFrenzy ), and take Extra Rage (CW), and Knock-Down (www.d20srd.org/srd/divine/divineAbilitiesFeats.htm#knockDown) (which can also be used with the fire lash). The ringleader should probably be a Psion (Kineticist), and be sure to get Fiery Discorporation (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/psionic/powers/fieryDiscorporation.htm) and plenty of Energy X powers.

Chaotic Good/Cold: The Druid spell list has the best selection of cold-based spells in the game, I'd be inclined to use Spirit Shaman (CD) for the captains but they get no stealth skills. Savage Bard (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/variant/classes/variantCharacterClasses.htm#bardVariantSavageBard) with Dragonfire Inspiration for cold could work, but it would take a lot of feats to pull it off without houserules. Druid would be an obvious choice, but their neutral alignment requirement is a bit of a complication. Their ringleader could have Sublime Chord levels with Frost Mage from Frostburn. DFI Bard captains with Rangers for the rank-and-file would be pretty amazing. Wild Cohorts (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/re/20031118a) for everyone!

Lawful Good/Air: I'd probably use Swiftblade (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/prc/20070327) or Arcane Duelist (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/re/20030224a) (but not both), probably starting out Paladin 2/ Sorcerer X for either one. It's not entirely optimal, but it doesn't really need to be. Use Flyby Attack over Spring Attack, or just use overpowering charge attacks that overtake their foes quickly.

Lawful Evil/Earth: Psychic Warrior actually makes an extremely effective tank, considering all the bonus feats and the selection in Races of Stone: (Greater) Heavy Armor Optimization, Deflective Armor, and Focused Shield, plus Shield Specialization and Shield Ward in PH2. I'd probably get a few Psychic Warrior with mostly Crusader levels, and use Expansion with Combat Reflexes and Stand Still (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/psionic/psionicFeats.htm#standStill). Their ringleader could be a War Mind (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/psionic/prestigeClasses/warMind.htm), maybe start Swordsage/Crusader with some Psychic Assassin (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/psm/20040723d) thrown on at the end.

2. The Knights of the Diamond Frost: The Chaotic Good faction, focuses on cold, stealth, and diplomacy. My Druid is part of this faction.

Wait, what? Why is the druid in any of the 4 factions when druids can't match any of the 4 alignments of the factions?

Anyhow, I guess this would be a place to throw in Soulborns from Magic of Incarnum or Paladins (including the alternate paladins of Unearthed Arcana).

I agree that does sound a bit murky. Each faction has it's Neutral X members, but the captains are the full alignment.
